1. Impact of Aborigines Protection Act on current health and well being of Aboriginal and/or
Torres Strait Islander communities, families and individuals
Aboriginal protection act, enacted in 1869 by the colony of Victoria, has been able to
give extensive powers to aboriginal people to the government's Board for the
Protection of Aborigines. The act has adequate amount of regulations for residence, marriage
and employment. It has been able to give adequate amount of well being to the people of
community (Behrendt and et.al., 2012). Concessions and facilities in health care department
have also been extended to people to promote well being to the people belonging to Aboriginal
and/or Torres Strait Islander communities, families and individuals.
2. Language revival is the event that has helped to regain strength in Aboriginal and/or Torres
Strait Islander communities
Since, the spoken and written language, theta is commonly adopted by people from Torres
islander and Aboriginal communities, is different from the one that is spoken by the people
belonging to core Australia. It arose the requirement to give adequate space to their language
that is to be created by the policy makers. It has helped in reviving the language and culture of
community to all over Australia. Therefore, it can be stated that, Language revival is the event
that has helped to regain strength in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities
(Angelo, 2013).

3. Historical events, government policies and legislations has positive impact to shape current
delivery to aboriginal and / or Toress Islander clients
Aboriginals and Torres islander were not able to gain the space and respect in the
society of Australia. Hence, in order to gain the same, various historical events, government
policies and legislations were framed so as to shape positive culture for these communities.
Their experience of living in the society has a significant impact on their lives. Aligning the
culture of Australians to aboriginal and / or Toress Islander has been the important task.
Moreover, the government have also come up with the policies and legislations lso as to bridge
the gap between them.
4. Current federal and state legislation for cultural safety at workplace
There are various strategies that have been adopted by the organizations to adopt
cultural safety for Toress islander and aboriginal communities. Their main objective is to
provide effective recognition, protection and conservation of the cultures of these communities
(Parker and Milroy, 2014). Moving towards cultural awareness and giving equal rights and
equal wages to all is generally adopted by every organization being established in Australia.
Cultural security is the strong obligation that is to be adopted by the organization when people
from Toress islander and aboriginals are working in it.
5. Three issues that influence relationship. Communication and partnership building with
Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples
The three issues that influence relationship. Communication and partnership building
with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples are:
 Unequal pay at the workplace: When unequal pay is extended to people from Australia or
from Torres islander or Aboriginal communities (Price, 2015).
 Language barrier: The language and cultural barriers is one of the important aspect that
can bridge the gap or crate the same in the workplace environment. Hence, it becomes
important to analyse and create the same at the workplace.
 Laws and legislations: Since, the communities are weakly present in Australia and hence
require adequate role of building rules and regulations so that a strong presence can be
initiated in the country.
6. Impact of own cultural values and beliefs to influence service delivery
Maintenance of cultural values and beliefs in the organization can help in solving out
the issue and maintain adequate presence of Torres islander or Aboriginal communities. It
becomes important to give appropriate acceptance to their culture as well. It helps in bridging
the gap and introducing their well being in the society. Hence, equal treatment to all and giving
them preferences for employment can help in solving out the emerging issue (Kildea and et.al.,
2012).
7. Consult and communicate to deliver culturally safe services
As a part of the new job role, to deliver the services and programs to the local Aboriginal
or Torres Strait Islander community, it becomes important to treat these people with utmost
care. Translator can be used at the workplace so that no language barrier is faced by them.
Moreover, communicating in written format rather than oral can also helps in solving out the
issue to the core.
