Since the motor can run the voltage drop across the motor
is high sending a low voltage signal back to the ECU via
wire 313.

Once the throttle motor reaches its full retract the voltage
drop across the motor is low causing a high voltage signal
to the ECU. At the same time the PWM signal is received
and then stored as the low idle or home position.
K Fig 2. ( T C-27).
Every time the key is turned on from off the throttle motor
calibrates home position.

Fault Codes
Table 5.
Code Description Cause
E401 Motor over-current Throttle motor stall
E402 Motor open-circuit condition There is no current flow to throttle actuator
E403 Hand or foot throttle voltage low Hand / Foot signal less then 0.5 volts
E404 Hand or foot throttle voltage high Hand / foot signal greater then 4.5 volts
E405 Actuator position signal frequency / duty cycle fault Loss of position signal from Actuator to ECU
E406 Retract output driver fault Short circuit / over temperature within actuator
E407 Extend output driver fault Short circuit / over temperature within actuator
E408 Idle throttle calibration failed after 3 attempts. Actuator position and position sensor values do not
match
