First of all we need enable user registration on our system.

Optional: Set the New User Account Activation field in user options:

If set to None the user account will be activated immediately and the user can log in straight away (even
if their email address is invalid).

If set to Self the User will be emailed a link to activate their account before they can log in.

If set to Administrator the user will be emailed a link to activate their account before they can log in.
This is a simple validation step because to complete the registration process the user must enter a valid
email address to which they have access. It reduces the number of spammers creating fake accounts on
your website.

Enabled allows a user to login at will. If you switch Enabled for a user to 'on' they will be able to
get into their account. Activated however only happens one time usually by the administrator

1) a new user registers: Enabled [x], Activated[x];

2) the user clicks on the activation link he received by e-mail: Enabled [x], Activated[+];
3) the admin of the website decides to block the user: Enabled [v], Activated[v].

User Groups
Joomla User Groups are used to control what users are allowed to do on a site. By assigning
permissions to groups, you can allow users to access and edit the back end of your site, create
and/or edit articles through the front end or the back end, edit your site’s template settings and
etc

Once inside the User Manager, click on the User Groups tab. You'll notice a list of pre-existing
User Groups that come with our site.

Enter a title for the group(NEW USER GROUP) and set the Group Parent
option(REGISTERED). The Group Parent will determine which permissions this group will
inherit.

Assigning Users to Groups

After creating the new User and returning to the User Manager, you can assign that User to a Group by
opening the User's profile by clicking on the User's name.

In the Assigned User Groups area, assign the User to a Group by clicking on the box next to the Group's
name. It is possible to assign a User to Multiple Groups.

Access level

One of the many useful features of Joomla is the ability to display certain parts of your site for specific
User Groups

Default Joomla Access Levels

There are five access levels that are included in Joomla by default: Guest, Public, Registered and
Special Super user. You can view it here.

The public access level is the default access level that is assigned to all parts of the front end of your site.
Can be Any visitor

The registered access Level will hide content from site visitors unless they are logged into the site. This
means that any parts of your site that are assigned to the registered access level will be hidden from
visitors until they register and log into your site.

Special

The special access level is for the back end of your site. Everything in your site’s
administration panel is assigned to the special access level so it is accessible only to the
users who have access to it.

Creating Custom Access Levels

In addition to the default access levels included in Joomla, you can create your own access
levels.

Give the access level a name, and select which groups you would like to have access to the new access
level.
