„Fake News“ im Mittelalter und der Frühen Neuzeit.


Eine interdisziplinäre studentische Konferenz im Zeichen der
Mediävistik
Call for Papers
All students interested in research and interested in giving a paper, are cordially invited to send in an abstract
for the Call for Papers. Present your ideas or research on the topic „Fake News in the Middle Ages and Early
Modern Period“ and discuss them with other students and lecturers. Papers can be handed in and be presented
in German, as well as in English.

Especially students from specific „Medieval and Renaissance Studies“ courses of study are invited to send in
papers. Moreover, students of English, Protestant or Catholic Theology, History, German, Islamic Studies,
Classical Philology, Comparative Literary Studies, Art History, East Asian Studies, Philosophy, Romance
Philology, Pre- and Early History, as well as similar courses of study, are invited to send in a paper.

Attention should be paid to the following:


Please give your paper a short, precise title. Make sure that students from other fields of study will be able to
understand the topic and content of your paper. Please use the following points as a guideline:
→ Introduction and context of the topic, as well as a research question.
→ Which approach did you chose for the presentation of your topic?
→ Outline results, partial results or your current progress.
→ Which relevance does your paper have?
→ Name a maximum of 5 sources (primary and secondary sources) your paper is based on.

Please note:
Please fill in your personal information and check that all other boxes are ticked off, as well.
Give a short outline (max. 10 lines) and a more detailed abstract (max. 50 lines) of your paper.
Typeface: Times New Roman; type size: 12; line spacing: 1,15.
Title the Pdf document as follows: „Short Title_Last Name.pdf“ and send it via email to stuko-fn@rub.de
until the 2nd January 2020; 11:59 pm. Please contact us in case any problem occurs.
You will receive an email confirming the receipt of your paper, as well as further updates.
Papers are given in the format of a 30 minute presentation, followed by a 15 minute discussion with the
plenum.
A PowerPoint presentation (or any other format) is encouraged, but not obligatory. Please let us know if
you require any other type of technical equipment, e.g. audio.
We would like to publish the papers after the conference in the form of a script, as well as the presentation
used during the conference, on out homepage. Further forms of publication are being discussed at the
moment.
