Tip Sheet: Sharing with Tableau Public

Tableau Public is a way to disseminate your work in Tableau. Some have even used their
Tableau Public profile in their job search process as a way to demonstrate their skills.
But everything posted to Tableau Public is publicly available, including the underlying data! So
this is not an appropriate place to post any proprietary or sensitive data. But it can be great to
publicize your work.

Sharing with Tableau Public

The easiest way to get started with Tableau Public is from within Tableau itself:
 Open a Tableau viz that you would like to share on Tableau Public (you can always hide or
delete it later)
 Click the Server drop-down…Tableau Public…Save to Tableau Public As…
 To create a Tableau Public Account, just click Create one now for free:

Once you have set up your account, you can sign in. Then you will see this screen:
Simply type in a name for your viz and click Save
You will automatically be taken to your Tableau Public page, where you can see your posted
viz. You’re done!

 You can make a viz invisible to others by going to Profile and clicking the upper-right corner
of the viz:

 When you hover over each viz in your profile, you should also see a delete icon in the
lower-right.
