The main purpose of this study is to know how prepared are the senior high school

(SHS) students in grade 12 under the academic track towards their work immersion in

terms of practical, communication, social and critical thinking skills and knowledge.

The percentage and weighted mean were computed for the profile of the

respondents in terms of age, gender and their strand. The Kruskal–Wallis test was used by

the researchers to test the hypothesis.

vii
The result of the study showed that respondents are good in working with

computers with a mean of 1.7786. It shows that students are considered moderately

prepared towards their work immersion because students nowadays couldn’t work without

technology. With regards to communication skills, most are capable in speaking English

fluently, yet some are shy of showing their full potential with the mean of 1.9160.

In the light of the said findings, conclusions were drawn and appropriate

recommendations were offered.

Most of the grade 12 students in New Era University under the Academic track are

moderately prepared for the work immersion according to their skills, because there are

some skills that need to be further improved within each student, such as the

communication skills.

The grade 12 students should not only attend seminars and orientations about work

immersion, but also to further enhance their knowledge, capabilities, and skills such as

practical, communication, social, and critical thinking skills on their own in preparation for

their work immersion.
