Chapter 5 Test
Resistor box
Ruler
Network cable
Connect the simulator, power cable and sensor cable to the patient monitor; turn on the
power. Patient monitor shall display startup picture and then enters monitor screen.
Display Test
After patient monitor enter monitor screen, the characters and waves should display clearly
without dithers and blurs.
Key Test
Press every key on the keypad, the patient monitor shall execute the corresponding
function as instructed in the operation manual. The encoder shall execute the corresponding as
well.
Sound Test
There should be key sound when rotate encoder; there should be alarm sound when
triggers alarm.
ECG Calibrate
Set ECG channel 1 and channel 2’s gain to: ×1 and open ECG calibrate switch, ECG
wave should be a 1mV, 1Hz square wave, check the wave amplitude should be 10mm±0.5mm.
ECG Gain
Set ECG channel 1’s gain to: ×1, ECG channel 1 lead to II and set ECG simulator to input
a 1mV 1Hz square wave, ECG1 wave should be a 1mV, 1Hz square wave, check the wave
amplitude should be 10mm±0.5mm.
Set ECG channel 2’s gain to: ×1, ECG channel 2 lead to II and set ECG simulator to input
a 1mV 1Hz square wave, ECG2 wave should be a 1mV, 1Hz square wave, check the wave
amplitude should be 10mm±0.5mm.
ECG Lead
Set ECG simulator to input normal ECG wave, Select all ECG lead and gain, ECG wave
should be correct according to simulator.
Lead Off
Disconnect ECG lead from ECG simulator, there should be correct ECG lead off alarm.
Heart Rate
Set ECG simulator heart rate to be 30, 80, 300, the patient monitor’s heart rate should be
30, 80 and 300 respectively and error is below 1%.
Pace
Set “PACE” switch on and set simulator to input PACE signal, there should be PACE mark
on ECG wave.
Set the base impedance to 1K and resistance respectively to 0.5Ω and 3Ω, RESP Rate
respectively to 30 and 120, the system shall measure the RESP Rate to be 29~31 and 118~
122.
1) Set NIBP simulator to adult mode and pressure to 255/195/215 mmHg, set patient
monitor to adult mode and start NIBP test, when measurement finish, systolic, mean,
diastolic pressure should be 255±8mmHg,215±8mmHg 、195±8mmHg.
2) Set NIBP simulator to neonate mode and pressure to 120/80/90 mmHg, set patient
monitor to pediatric mode and start NIBP test, when measurement finish, systolic,
mean, diastolic pressure should be 120±8mmHg,90±8mmHg 、80±8mmHg.
3) Set NIBP simulator to neonate mode and pressure to 120/80/90 mmHg, set patient
monitor to neonate mode and start NIBP test, when measurement finish, systolic,
mean, diastolic pressure should be 40±8mmHg,20±8mmHg 、10±8mmHg.
NIBP calibrations
Using a pressure gauge (or mercury sphygmomanometer) to carry on the calibration,
choose “NIBP Calibration” in the “Service” menu to start calibration.
Connect the pressure gauge, the cuff through a 3-way tube to the blood pressure trachea
jack on the monitor, setting the monitor as “calibration” mode, then charge the cuff using a air
pump, first make the pressure to 250 mmHg, then slowly deflates, when the monitor display 200,
150 and 50 mmHg, the difference between the standard pressure gauge value and the monitor
pressure value should in 3 mmHg. If the value exceeds 3 mmHg, please contact our company’s
attendant.
Put finger to SpO2 sensor and connect SpO2 sensor to the patient monitor, SpO2 value
should be above 95%.
Press “RECORD” key, the recorder should output ECG waveform accordant to display.
Take out recorder paper, there should be “RECORDER OUT OF PAPER” alarm on patient
monitor.
Connect patient monitor and central monitor station with network cable and start up patient
monitor and central monitor station, the net icon on patient monitor should be “ ”, there
should be waveform and parameter displayed on the central monitor station.
2) Check if all the outer cables, inserted modules and accessories are in good
condition;
3) Check if all the monitoring functions of the monitor can work normally so as to make
sure that the monitor is in good condition.
If you find any damage on the monitor, stop using the monitor on patient, and contact the
biomedical engineer of the hospital or Customer Service Department immediately.
Routine check
The overall check of the monitor including the functional safety check, must be performed
by qualified personnel once every 6 to 12 month or each time after fix up. All checks that need to
open the monitor enclosure must be performed by qualified service personnel.
It is recommended that you should clean the outside surface of the monitor enclosure and
the display screen regularly. Only use non-caustic detergents such as soap and water to clean
the monitor enclosure.
2) Most cleaning agents must be diluted before use. Dilute the cleaning agent as per
the manufacturer's direction.
4) Do not let the cleaning agent enter the monitor. Do not immerse any part of the
system into liquid.
4) Hydrogen Peroxide 3%
5) Alcohol
6) Isopropanol
