Chapter 1 Introduction

Chapter 1 Introduction
This monitor is suitable for the adult, the pediatric and the neonate, may monitor

the life parameters, such as the electrocardiograph (ECG), the noninvasive blood

pressure (NIBP), the oxygen saturation (SpO₂), the respiration rate (Resp), the body

temperature (Temp) and so on,, can in the same screen demonstrate maximum 8

waveforms and all information of the parameters monitored.

The purpose and function of the patient monitor is to monitor: ECG; heartrate;

noninvasive blood pressure (systolic, diastolic, and mean arterialpressures);

functional arterial oxygen saturation; respiration rate and temperature for adult and

pediatric patients in all hospital areas and hospital-type facilities. It can be used

during hospital transport and in mobile, land-based environments, such as

ambulances.

Below shows the functions of this monitor:

1) The electrocardiograph (ECG), including: the heart rate, 6 channels ECG
waveforms;

2) The oxygen saturation (SpO₂), including: the oxygen saturation , pulse rate,

pulse wave;
3) The noninvasive blood pressure (NIBP), including: Systolic pressure,
diastolic pressure, mean pressure;
4) The body temperature (Temp): 2 channels body temperature data;
5) The respiration (Resp): Breathing rate, breath waveform.

Chapter 5 Test

5.7 NIBP Test

1) Set NIBP simulator to adult mode and pressure to 255/195/215 mmHg, set patient
monitor to adult mode and start NIBP test, when measurement finish, systolic, mean,
diastolic pressure should be 255±8mmHg,215±8mmHg 、195±8mmHg.

2) Set NIBP simulator to neonate mode and pressure to 120/80/90 mmHg, set patient
monitor to pediatric mode and start NIBP test, when measurement finish, systolic,
mean, diastolic pressure should be 120±8mmHg,90±8mmHg 、80±8mmHg.

3) Set NIBP simulator to neonate mode and pressure to 120/80/90 mmHg, set patient
monitor to neonate mode and start NIBP test, when measurement finish, systolic,
mean, diastolic pressure should be 40±8mmHg,20±8mmHg 、10±8mmHg.

„ NIBP Leakage Test

When the cuff is connected may use “Leakage Test” function to start air course charge
process, thus to discover whether the air way’s airtight condition is good or not. If the test
passes, the system will not make any prompt; If do not passed, then in the noninvasive blood
pressure parameter area will have the corresponding wrong prompt.

„ NIBP calibrations
Using a pressure gauge (or mercury sphygmomanometer) to carry on the calibration,
choose “NIBP Calibration” in the “Service” menu to start calibration.

Connect the pressure gauge, the cuff through a 3-way tube to the blood pressure trachea
jack on the monitor, setting the monitor as “calibration” mode, then charge the cuff using a air
pump, first make the pressure to 250 mmHg, then slowly deflates, when the monitor display 200,
150 and 50 mmHg, the difference between the standard pressure gauge value and the monitor
pressure value should in 3 mmHg. If the value exceeds 3 mmHg, please contact our company’s
attendant.

5.8 SpO2 Test

Put finger to SpO2 sensor and connect SpO2 sensor to the patient monitor, SpO2 value
should be above 95%.

Connect SpO2 sensor to SpO2 simulator and set simulator to 70%、75%、80%、85%、

90%、95%、100%,SpO2 value on patient monitor should be 70%、75%、80%、85%、90%、
95%、100% respectively,error below 2%.

Chapter 6 Maintenance and Clearing

Chapter 6 Maintenance and Cleaning

6.1 System Checks

„ Checks before using the monitor

1) Check if there is any mechanical damage;

2) Check if all the outer cables, inserted modules and accessories are in good
condition;

3) Check if all the monitoring functions of the monitor can work normally so as to make
sure that the monitor is in good condition.

If you find any damage on the monitor, stop using the monitor on patient, and contact the
biomedical engineer of the hospital or Customer Service Department immediately.

„ Routine check
The overall check of the monitor including the functional safety check, must be performed
by qualified personnel once every 6 to 12 month or each time after fix up. All checks that need to
open the monitor enclosure must be performed by qualified service personnel.

6.2 General Cleaning

The Patient Monitor must be kept dust-free.

It is recommended that you should clean the outside surface of the monitor enclosure and
the display screen regularly. Only use non-caustic detergents such as soap and water to clean
the monitor enclosure.

1) Avoid using ammonia-based or acetone-based cleaners such as acetone.

2) Most cleaning agents must be diluted before use. Dilute the cleaning agent as per
the manufacturer's direction.

3) Do not use the grinding material, such as steel wool etc.

4) Do not let the cleaning agent enter the monitor. Do not immerse any part of the
system into liquid.

5) Do not leave the cleaning agents at any part of the equipment.
