Network:
- If a proxy server is in use and you are seeking maximum performance and
availability/reliability:
- (First Choice) In the Proxy configuration, bypass the Proxy server for *.oraclecloud.com
traffic
- (Second Choice) In the Proxy configuration, it is at a minimum recommended to
by-pass the following Domain: *oraclecloud.com for "Authentication Only"
Network Connection:
- A wired connection is recommended for optimal performance.
- If using a device also has an available Wireless connection (such as a Laptop) but is also
connected to a Wired network, disable the Wireless card (not just “disconnect” from the
wireless network when connected to a Wired Network). This may be accomplished a few ways
including:
a. Through a BIOS parameter / vendor specific
b. By manually changing the NIC interface priority metrics
c. Via a Scheduled task (where the task ‘checks for the presence of’ a Wired Connection and
disables the Wireless automatically when a Wired connection is active.
d. Manually disabling the Wireless NIC either by software or physical switch (manufacturer
specific)

Java:
- Update Java to the latest version "if possible" (there may be older applications that require an
older java version, please confirm). There are performance improvements w/ each update
(currently 1.8.0.1xx / 8.1xx). It is possible for multiple versions of Java to be installed, although
it may cause a security risk.
* A cache that is too large may actually slow performance. From time to time, or if you are
experiencing slowness, you may want to clear your cache as a troubleshooting step.
- Control Panel, Java, General, Temporary Internet Files, Settings, Check Keep Temporary files
