MOTIVATION LETTER – YES CLUB

Hi, I am Raul, and I am a physical education teacher and a youth activities coordinator with a
great awareness about how foster children and teenagers to make a better world.

I have always been thinking about how to improve people’s life, and when I had to decide a
degree I had two choices: sports science to improve their physical health, or psychology and
improving their mind and emotional intelligence, and I decided for the first one, and last year I
finished the master to become a physical education teacher in Secondary School.

I have done many in-person and on-line training courses about how to use different education
methods in order to improve the level of knowledge (gamification, flipped classroom, project
based learning), having done many classes about physical education, emotional intelligence,
corporal expression, theatre and social entrepreneurship.

On the one hand, I think that school is really very important if we want to change things.
Students needs their creativity and critical thinking raised. They have to become more aware
about their own lifes, their social environment, and about what can they do to change things.

For the other hand, I also have seen that other ways are also needed, because traditional school
is based only in theoretical knowledge and there are many important things that are not learnt.
Taking that into account, I am redacting this month a youth exchange in Toledo, where people
from Turkey, Finland, Georgia and Ukraine will come here on September to learn about
emotional intelligence, creative and reflective thinking using non formal school, because it has
been thought that those are competences that are needed in youngsters around Europe and
they have not been learnt because they are “not important” for many people.

I really want to spend my whole life in education, and I want to learn about all the means.

About e-learning, I have been thinking some months about one social entrepreneurship app that
will involve people from all ages, using gamification as a way of joining people trying to leave a
good footprint around all the country doing social and ecological volunteering but I need more
knowledge about how to pass from the idea to the facts using technology, and I also would like
to know people that would be also trying to improve their social environment with their own
ideas.

Taking all this into account, I really would enjoy if I could take part of this breathtaking
opportunity, where I could learn in an stimulating social environment, about how to foster social
entrepreneurship, helping us from each other, having the change of leave a positive footprint in
the world.
