Performance Properties - How to Extract Chilled Water

୛ Thermoelectric Module Cooling Method

If a DC voltage is applied to both ends of thermal conversion material, one end generates heat and the
other end absorbs the heat, which is called the Peltier effect (Fig. 1). In general, a thermoelectric
module refers to a method for creating cold water using this cooling effect.

Performance Properties (Circuit)
1. Performance Properties of PWB

1) FILTER PWB
- . It blocks a noise signal flowing in from outside through R401, ZNR401, XC401, LF401, and XC402.

AC Voltage OUT
(Removal of NOISE)

AC Voltage IN
(NOISE)

2) SMPS PWB
- . It supplies DC24V and 5V, which are the voltage used for the inside of the product, by
receiving an input of the AC voltage of the Filter PWB.
- . The AC voltage that has passed through the Line Filter Circuit smooths by rectifying through BD1
and C5, and outputs DC24V and 5V through the Trans and the Feedback Circuit.
- . Driving of Sheath Heater Assy: It drives the Sheath Heater Assy by receiving a Sheath Heater Assy
control command through the Base PWB IF.
- . Driving of Thermoelectric Module: It drives the Thermoelectric Module by receiving a Thermoelectric
Module control command through the Base PWB IF.

Performance Properties (Circuit)

3) WATEROUT PWB
- . It senses the pressing of the Out Flow button, and conveys the signal to the Base PWB.

BASE PWB IF
MOOD PWB IF

4) Mood PWB
- . It receives a control command from the Base PWB, turns ON/OFF the LEDS in three colors of red,
green, and blue, and turns the light of the Faucet.

WATEROUT PWB IF

5) Main PWB
- . It determines the capacitance with the Touch IC, and, when it senses an object with a certain charge
or greater, it applies a Low signal to the Input Port of the Base PWB Micom to determine the input of
the button.
- . It receives the signals of Clock, Data, and CS from the Base PWB Micom and drives the 4 - Digit 7 -
Segment Display and the button LEDs.
- . It senses the Sterilizing Cup with the Cup Detection Sensor, and conveys the signal to the Base PWB.

Performance Properties (Circuit)
6) BASE PWB
- . Sensor Input Unit
: Heat Sink Temperature ˀThe R19 and the Heat Sink Temperature Sensor (thermistor, CN10)
get combined, the voltage for the temperature gets entered into the Pin No. 89 of Micom, and
a temperature error of the Heat Sink combined with the Thermoelectric Module gets sensed .
: ColdWater Temperature ˀThe R85 and the Thermistor Assy - Cold Water (thermistor, CN11) get
combined, the voltage for the temperature gets entered into the Pin No. 90 of Micom, and the
Thermoelectric Module gets controlled with the set temperature.
: Hot Water Temperature ˀThe R83 and the Thermistor Assy - Hot Water (thermistor, CN12) get combined,
the voltage for the temperature gets entered into the Pin No. 91 of Micom, and the Thermoelectric
Module gets controlled with the set temperature.
: Tap Water Temperature ˀThe R81 and the Thermistor Assy - Tap Water (thermistor, CN13) get combined,
and the voltage for the temperature gets entered into the Pin No. 92 of Micom, and is used for the output
control of the Sheath Heater Assy.
: Flux sensing - The Low Edge signal is received from the Flow Meter (CN9), and the tap water flux is
sensed.
: Cold Water Level ˀThe Cold Water Level Sensor (LEVEL SNSR 2P ASSY) senses that there is water,
and "Low (GND)" gets entered into the Pin No. 73 of Micom to sense a low cold water level.
"Low (GND)" gets entered into the Pin No. 74 of MIcom, and the full cold water level gets recognized .
: Water leak sensing - The Water Leak Sensor Assy (CN8) is mounted on the bottom of the product,
and when it senses water, "Low" gets entered into the Pin No. 75 of Micom to sense water leak.

- . Voice Output Unit
: Clock at Pin No. 57 of Micom and Data at Pin No. 56 are outputted to output the voice saved
in the IC42 (Voice ROM) of the Voice Module through the Speaker (CN6).

- . RTC Circuit Unit

: Clock at Pin No. 37 of Micom and Data at Pin No. 36 are outputted to communicate with the
RTC IC (IC3) and obtain the time information .
The clock function is operated with the voltage saved in the Super Capacitor (SC1) even when
no power is supplied .

- . Reset Unit
: After DC 3.3V is stabilized by the time constant (T=C*R) of the R68 and the C14, an nRESET
signal (No. 116) of Micom is high entered, and the Mmicom performs the initial operation .
When the voltage of DC 3.3V is instable and goes down to 2.7V or lower, the nRESET signal of
Micom is low entered to prevent a malfunction of the Micom .

- . Sterilization Kit Driving Unit

: The Q4 (TR) is turned ON with the Pin No. 70 of Micom (PWM) to control the Q5 (FET) GATE
voltage and adjust the voltage applied to the Sterilization Kit.
It operates the Q6 with the Pin No. 127 (GPIO) of Micom, and operates the Sterilization Kit with
the voltage applied to the Sterilization Kit.

- . Sterilization Kit Current Sensing Unit

: It senses the current flowing in the Sterilization Kit to use it for controlling the Sterilization Kit
and sensing an error.
When the Sterilization Kit is driven, the non - inverting amplification of the voltage applied to the
resistance of R40 and R41 (1 Ohm) is conducted through the OPAMP (IC8) to sense with the
Pin No. 94 of Micom (AD) and to prevent an overcurrent of the Sterilization Kit.

- . Drain Pump Current Sensing Unit

: When the Drain Pump is driven, the non - inverting amplification of the voltage applied to the
resistance of R29 (1 Ohm) is conducted through the OPAMP (IC8) to sense with the Pin No. 95
of Micom (AD) and to prevent an idle of the Drain Pump and the noise .

- . Valve Output Unit

: It drives nine Valve according to each function with the Micom .
When the Cold Outlet Valve Assy and the Cold Drain Valve Assy are driven, DC 24V is applied,
and, the other Valves are controlled for DC 24V to be applied for three seconds in the early
stage of their driving and for DC 12V to be applied after three seconds to prevent heat
generation .
