We know that assessment is an action or a process of gathering, organizing, and analyzing data or
information. This is done for the improvement and the betterment of the learners as main goal of
assessment. Also, assessment is done for the revision and improvement of instructional materials and
strategies in teaching-learning process.
Our collage is in the form of a shovel because for us Science major and as future teachers, we always
compare our learners to a plant. As we all know that when you plant you need to cultivate using the
right tool. You need to provide it with sufficient amount of sunlight, water, and minerals for the plant
to grow and develop, and for you to reap a good harvest. Same through with assessment, you need to
provide the right tool and sufficient amount of techniques and strategies to achieve your goal of
effective assessment.
