Alcatel-Lucent OpenTouch® Suite for SMB will be launched on November 28, 2016, with the new OXO
Connect. This document provides additional information on release policy adjustments and the commercial
program.
OpenTouch Suite for SMB H2-2016 includes the new OXO Connect, whose launch was previously announced in
eFlash C076. The primary evolution is a new licensing model based on the unique Universal Telephony License
(UTL). There is also an update to the service portion with the new Software Assurance (SA) replacing the
previous Software Maintenance Service (SMS)

OXO Connect has a new license model with its unique UTL.
For ALL systems from R2 to R9, if the customer doesn’t want to migrate to OXO Connect, the upgrade license
to OmniPCX Office RCE R10 stays available for deploying an up to date R10 maintenance release.

According to the current SMS definition, the last system shipped in February 2017 (Release 10) will benefit from
six months of bug fixing engagement and 18 months of technical support.
Each OXO Connect system has its own three year support period starting when the system is ordered, either as a
new system or as a result of migration.
The end date never changes regardless of add-ons, whether with or without UTL during the period. Added UTLs
must be ordered with the associated SA. The SA price does not depend on the remaining duration, no “prorata
temporis” pricing is calculated. After the term is up and without renewal, the system will not be altered and it
will lose its services.
To sustain business activity before the major release launch, we have decided to grant special upgrade
conditions with a new short term commercial program called the “Early Bird” promotion.
The Early Bird promotion is a time limited promotion for migrating OmniPCX Office RCE R10.3 to the new OXO
Connect R2. The eligible systems are new systems ordered between October 1, 2016 and February 24, 2017.
Systems upgraded to R10.3 are not eligible. The application period to request the OXO Connect migration is
between December 1, 2017 and April 30, 2017.
