Steps for creating a new database:


 Open MS Office Access 2007 on your pc.
 Select Blank database Template towards the top left of the screen.
 Enter filename “Hotel Room” for your Access 2007 database.
 Click on create command button below.
 The database file opens and get automatically saved on your pc.

Steps for creating a Table:


Click on Create tab in the toolbar on the top of the screen. Then
click on the table button towards top left of the screen.
Add fields with names “Room_No”, “Room_Type” and
“Charges”.
 Enter the records which you want to enter in the columns of the
fields.
 Highlight the field “Room_No” and set it as a primary key for the
table.
 Finally after entering the records, click on save option and save the
table with the name “Rooms”.

Steps for creating another Table:


 Create another table and add fields with names “Customer_ID”,
“Room_No” and “Mobile_No” to it.
 Enter records in it and click on save option after entering records.
Save table with name “Bookings”.
 The field “Room_No” is common for both the tables.

Steps to add a Form:


 Highlight the record in the table “Rooms” of which you want to
make a form.
 A form shows only a single record at a time.
 For adding a form, click on Create tab. Then click on form in the
form group.
 The form shows the same record as in the table “Rooms”.
 Click on save option and save form with name “Rooms”.

Steps to add another Form:


 Highlight the record in the table “Bookings” of which you want
to make a form.
 Repeat same steps as above.
 The form shows the same record as in the table “Bookings”.
 Click on save option and save form with name “Bookings”.
 The record in the form can be edited using Find and Replace
Command as edited in the table.

Steps to create a Report:


 Open the navigation pane.
 Click the table “Rooms” on which we have to base our report.
 Click on Create tab and then click on Report button in the
reports group.
 Access creates our report and displays our report in layout view.
We can modify the report.
 After making report, click the save button on the quick access
toolbar and name the report as “Rooms”.

 The Report button creates a simple report that lists the
records in the selected table or query in a columnar format.

Steps to create Relationships:


 Click the Microsoft Office Button , and then click Open.
 In the Open dialog box, select and open the database.
 On the Database Tools tab, in the Show/Hide group,
click Relationships.
 If the database contains relationships, the Relationships window
appears. If the database does not contain any relationships and you
are opening the Relationships window for the first time, the Show
Table dialog box appears. Click Close to close the dialog box.
 On the Design tab, in the Relationships group, click All
Relationships.

This displays all of the defined relationships in your database. Note that hidden
tables (tables for which the Hidden check box in the table's Properties dialog box is
selected) and their relationships will not be shown unless the Show Hidden
Objects check box is selected in the Navigation Options dialog box.

Steps To Edit Relationships:


 Opens the Edit Relationships dialog box.
 When you select a relationship line, you can click Edit
Relationships to change the table relationship.
 You can also double-click the relationship line.

Clear Layout- Removes all tables and relationships from display


in the Relationships window. Note that this command only hides
the tables and relationships, it does not delete them.
Relationships Report- Creates a report that displays the tables
and relationships in your database. The report shows only the
tables and relationships that are not hidden in the Relationships
window.
