Subject : DOCUMENTATION FOR LOANS UNDER CORP SCHEMES

HIGHLIGHTS

Defect free documentation is one of the objectives towards building up of an

healthy retail credit portfolio and to reduce inspection irregularities.

In this backdrop, Branches are hereby directed to obtain proper documents

stipulated for respective Scheme.

1.0 Granting of loan results in contractual relationship between the Bank

and the borrower which needs to be supported by proper evidence. This
is possible when the loans are backed by required documents.

2.0 Documentation means obtaining proper documents in appropriate forms

in accordance with the law executed by relevant parties to establish a
legal relationship between the bank and borrower.

3.0 Documentation not only ensures prompt repayment, but also empowers
the Bank to take legal recourse for recovery of loan, in case of default.
Therefore, utmost care should be taken in obtaining and executing
documents.

4.0 In this connection attention is drawn to HO Circular No. 479/2011 [Index

No. 52.00/23/2011] dt. 04.07.2011 wherein guidelines on modification
of Retail Asset Hub set-up have been communicated.

4.1 As per the revised set-up, de-linked branches are required to sanction
loans under select Corp Schemes as per their delegated lending powers.

4.2 Therefore, processing & sanctioning of loans and documentation has to
be done manually by these branches.

5.0 In order to facilitate obtention of proper documents, the list of

documents prescribed for each Scheme is given in the Annexure.

6.0 Branches are advised to obtain proper documents as per the list to
ensure defect free documentation.

7.0 Branches are also advised to use revised loan application cum appraisal
forms where application checklist and appraisal checklist is given to
facilitate proper appraisal.

8.0 Branches/Offices are advised to note the above for compliance.
