● Majority of the wireless Pen products and their software are developed specifically
for Microsoft Windows users.
The included software, such as MyeBoard and i-Pen Driver is not compatible with
Mac or Linux operating system since the software was developed for Windows.
However, the hardware is compatible with Mac11 and Linux systems as an optical
mouse.

DESCRIPTION

i-Pen Pro II is a wireless pen-shaped optical mouse that enables users to input real handwriting
and control a computer system. i-Pen Pro II utilizes optical navigation technology and
mouse-hover technology and is light, durable, and superior in performance when inputting
handwriting and drawing pictures. i-Pen Pro II is an input device that looks and feels like
a regular pen. With our i-Pen Pro II, you can comfortably and efficiently complete more
projects with real writings or drawings which is very difficult to do with other conventional
input devices.

System Requirements

i-Pen Pro II has the following minimum


system requirements:

★ Pentium II 400MHz or equivalent


★ Supporting Operating System :
Windows 98 SE/ME/2000/XP, MAC, Linux

Installation/Adjust
1. Plug the cradle to USB port in your PC
2. Turn on the power switch which is located on the back side of the pen.
Power switch must be ‘ON’ before usage. Please turn off the power if you do not intent to use
i-Pen Pro II for a long period of time.
3. Before using i-Pen Pro II for the first time, please place i-Pen Pro II on the Cradle to charge.
The red light in the Battery Indicator means it’s charging.
When it’s fully charged it will turn green. The installation is now complete.
You can freely use i-Pen Pro II.

Note: If i-Pen Pro II’s battery is low, please leave the pen on the cradle continuously for more
than two hours to charge fully. It is recommended to charge the battery fully before
using i-Pen Pro II the very first time.

Setting of windows XP configuration before use

i-Pen Pro II can be used to draw pictures, input real handwriting, to make notes, or to make real
personal signatures like an actual pen. For better and enhanced handwriting and drawing in Pen mode,
please adjust i-Pen Pro II’s configuration in Control Panel.
(This setting is only applicable to Windows XP version.)

1. Select START → Control Panel → Printers and other Hardware → Mouse

2. The Mouse Properties will appear. Select Pointer Options tab

Please de-select “Enhance pointer precision” option button in Point Options tab.
Better handwriting can be achieved in Pen mode by selecting adequate pointer speed in Mouse mode.

Correct way to hold i-Pen Pro II

Please take a look at the following pictures for the correct posture of holding i-Pen Pro II
for the best result.

Changing Pen Tip


i-Pen Pro II’s pen tip is designed to withstand abrasion. However, it is recommended to replace
pen tip if it has been used for a long period of time.

① First, prepare one spare tip.

② Grab the tip and pull it in the direction of the red arrow as shown in the
figure on the left (Use nippers or pliers for your convenience)

③ Put the new tip back into the pen hole.

④ Place the pen on the hard surface and press down on the tip slightly

Mouse Pad

i-Pen Pro II is designed to work on most surfaces except on certain surfaces such as glass or
a white paper. Use the included mouse pad to achieve the best optimum result for writing,
drawing and other mouse functions.

Using i-Pen Pro II Button and Switch

Power switch
Turn power on and off by using this switch located on the upper part of the i-Pen Pro II.

Pen tip & left button


i-Pen Pro II’s pen tip has the same function as the left button of a typical mouse.

scroll button & right button


Located on the front top portion of the pen, it has the same function of a right button of a typical mouse.
It can also work as a scroll button like a typical mouse wheel.

Text or Graphic size adjustable switch


i-Pen Pro II can adjust text sizes by using the font control switch located on the side of the pen.
It has 3 different sizes of Small, Medium, or Large.
Large is suitable in Mouse mode and Small and Medium is recommended for an accurate writing or
a detailed drawing.

Battery indicator
Battery Indicator A : This indicator is located on the pen. Blinking red light indicates that the i-Pen
needs to be recharged.
Battery Indicator B : The indicator is on the cradle and will show the pen’s battery status.
Green : Full charge Red : Empty (Needs to be charged)

Optical Character Recognition (OCR)


Search for “Handwriting recognition” under help menu at MS Word to see detailed instruction
regarding how to activate this feature.
Converting handwritten inputs to digital texts can be achieved by using OCR function built in
MS Office XP or later version. (OCR function of converting handwritten inputs into text is not
supported by the computer system without MS Office XP or later version)

To use OCR function on Windows XP, go to “Regional and Language Options” in “Control Panel”,
Click “Languages”, then Detail on “Text services and input languages” in “Languages” tab to add
the OCR function. (see the figure below)

For users with no Windows XP but with Office XP and above, go to “Text service” in “Control
Panel” to add the OCR function. (see right figure above)
This feature is perfect for those who don’t know how to type or are just too slow to type a
long message.

Using i-Pen Pro II

● On Microsoft Office XP (PowerPoint)

You can write a note, underline and draw a diagram on the current slideshow screen like on
a paper without installing any program.
This function is available only on Microsoft office PowerPoint XP version

1. You will see an icon like the figure below on the left lower corner of
the screen when the mouse is in motion during the slideshow of
Microsoft office XP PowerPoint.

2. When you click on the Triangle you will see a menu Tab (refer to the figure below).
You can freely write and draw when you Select ‘Pointer Option’ Æ ‘Pen’.

● Using a sign on your document.

You can add your signature in any MS Office documents.


(You must activate handwriting recognition feature first)
Open a MS document. Click on “Handwriting” button. Select “Drawing Pad”

Click on “Insert Drawing” button.

● Using on Graphic tool


You can draw pictures using i-Pen Pro II on Microsoft Paint

● Presentations and Lectures

At any time during a presentation with Microsoft PowerPoint you can write comments on
the screen and capture the attention of the audience. Since i-Pen Pro II is a wireless device,
you can remotely control your presentation.

You can capture full or partial screen by using MyeBoard.


You can capture any screens and make notes with your own handwriting to communicate with
others effectively.

Although i-Pen Pro is designed to be highly reliable, you may occasionally experience a
problem. The following will help you to identify the cause of the possible problems and
suggest solutions for related problems.
