VAT Manager, Tax Area Process Lead for APAC (GSC Philippines)

Job Description
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

● Drive standardization governance by carrying out agreed upon global Tax design processes
● Ensure processes meets VAT compliance requirements
● Ensure that the tax logics built in OneSource (Sabrix) Tax Determination are consistently
applied
● Carry out business priorities and strategy for the Tax process area
● Foster close and good partnership with APAC RTR APL
● Closely align with Polaris Process Leads to address the APAC business needs with the
Polaris solution
● Identify process gaps and provide recommendation for process improvement
● Drive timely resolutions on VAT issues raised on APAC and/or Business Groups
● Escalate VAT issues or risks associated with process gaps to Global Tax Lead
● Communicate global Tax governance and process owner decisions to local countries
● Provide input on strategic direction on process requirements while working closely with the
Global Process Team and local countries delivery of the process
● Implement standardized processes to ensure the deployed countries and the Philippines
GSC is meeting their compliance obligations while delivering exceptional value in processing
Tax Transactions

Preferred Skills and Competencies

● Ability to create solutions for complex problems

● Good collaboration with Polaris Process Leads, local Finance Managers and 3M Tax Team
● Good working knowledge of VAT in general
● Good knowledge and experience with current Tax practices and policies
● In depth knowledge of 3M’s global strategy, business areas, structure, and organization
● Professional demeanor, solid business acumen, and client service attitude
● High ability to leverage information for decision making
● Advanced competency on Building Internal Client Insight through Partnership
● Uses leadership and supervisory skills necessary for effectively working with people
● Demonstrates solid persuasion skills and can work with differing perspectives
