Synopsis.

Have total experience of over 13 years 2 months- (7 years 2 months and still counting in teaching and 6
years 2 months in the industrial sector.) Have worked on a wide gamut of Architectural and Urban Planning
jobs with special emphasis on Green building documentation, design of energy-efficient buildings and
building/environment sustainability-related issues. Since then I have shifted to Teaching & Research, 6
years and continuing. Subjects taught – Climate-Responsive Architecture, Energy Efficient Architecture,
Principles of Architecture, Theory of Design, HVAC, Architectural Design Sessionals, etc.

Education:

• School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi- Master of Planning (Urban). Obtained first-class
(completed in July 2005)
• Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi- Bachelor of Architecture, May 2003. Obtained first
class. (74.5%)
• Completed PhD Thesis on 12 May 2017 on “Passive design strategies for rural mud dwelling units
in Jharkhand, considering architectural design parameters for thermal comfort” from Birla Institute
of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi.

• Architectural Software Knowledge:


• Undergone full training course on Auto-Cad-R-2000.
• Fully conversant with ECOTECT Autodesk software for building energy simulation. Am learning
BIM also.

Since Sept 2011-November 2018. Have taught Energy-Efficient buildings, Climate Responsive
Architecture, Building-Services-IV, Principles of Architecture, Theory of Design, Building materials,
Architectural design (1st, 2nd,3rd, 4th & 7th Semesters) and Building Construction amongst others. Also
teach Master of Urban Planning Level Courses (Urban Planning). Have guided numerous Master of
Urban Planning (PG) and B. Arch Thesis (UG) students.
3. Urban-Planner, Mott Mac Donald India, Kolkata. November 2010-September 2011. Detail Design
for Elevated Stations & Central Park Depot). Work involved Station Design, Depot Planning, and
Green Building Certification of Central Park Depot for KMRC East-West Kolkata Metro.

5. Ambuja Realty Development Limited. August 2008-May 2010. Worked as Assistant Manager
(Architect): Worked on Architectural Projects. Work involved preparing extensive documentation for
LEED Green Building (by IGBC). Concerned building was given silver status by IGBC. Other work
involved project facilitation tasks and other project related work.

6. Jones Lang Lasalle Meghraj (Formerly Trammel Crow Meghraj), Mumbai: Senior Executive
(Strategic Development Initiative Group): Work involved entering into knowledge partnerships with
large land-developers and preparing Information Memorandums which were city-specific in nature and
carrying out feasibility-studies for their proposed projects. Also worked with consulting group and
helped them in preparation of feasibility reports, valuations, Best-Use Studies, preparing survey
questionnaires and conducting surveys. (Worked from August 2007 to July 2008)

7. (Ambuja Realty) Bengal Ambuja Housing Development Limited, posted as Consultant


(Architect-Urban Planner) with West Bengal HIDCO: Work involved planning of New Town,
Kolkata (Rajarhat). (April 2007 to July 2007)

8. West Bengal Consultancy Organisation Ltd., Kolkata: Worked as Associate Architect for
execution of assignments, in architecture & town planning related project work and preparation of
project feasibility report. (Worked from October 2006 to March 2007)

9. Work was as Urban Planner for Barrackpore Municipality under Kolkata Urban Services for the
Poor (KUSP), Change Management Unit (a project with financial assistance from DFID, U.K.):
Work involved preparation of Draft Development Plan (DDP) for the municipality. Specifically
associated with DTG1, which dealt with infrastructure, environment and landuse. This assignment
provided me with the opportunity to work at the grass-root level of planning (August 2005 to
September 2006)

Achievements.

• In DDP evaluation, Barrackpore Municipality had been adjudged as the first ranked municipality
among the all the municipalities within Kolkata Metropolitan Area, when I was Urban-Planner in
charge of the same.
• Certified LEED-IGBC Accredited Professional (AP) - Since May 2010. (Indian Green Building
Council AP)
• Won prizes in debate, creative writing, and quiz in Zonal NASA meet during study at BIT, Mesra.
• Short stories and poems published in The Sunday Statesman, 8Th Day: Literary Section. Kolkata
Edition.
• Was instrumental in documentation behind getting LEED-IGBC Silver Rating for CII-Suresh Neotia
Centre of Excellence, Salt Lake.
• Have three (3) research paper- publications in SCOPUS-Indexed journals (with SCIMAGO
impact factors) (2 of them are Web of Science indexed as well) and other publications (total incl.
the SCOPUS publications -09) in international journals and 02 conference proceedings.
• PhD Thesis published in book form by Lambert Publishers – Passive Design Strategies for Rural
Mud Dwellings in Jharkhand. ISSN: 978-3-330-33543-1.
• Invited to and attended as Resource Person to COA-Training Workshop for two sessions in ABIT,
