LTE/EPC Trial highlights

ALU has been selected by FT and is the sole supplier of this trial
The objective of FT trial is a technology trial, the goal is not to validate or
help development of ALU solution, but to evaluate LTE performance
The trial is split in several phases covering the radio aspects of LTE, the E2E
performance and inter-working with legacy network, the introduction of
third-party commercial terminals and TDD radio performance
The trial is a “LSTI trial”, and results will be shared as defined in LSTI
All equipments and support are provided by Alcatel-Lucent:
 eNode B and antennas
 EPC nodes
 O&M
 Test terminals
 Test tools
 Backhaul: 7750, 7705,7450, MPR9500
 Vehicle

Focus on LTE UE

UE: laptop with LGE data card providing LTE radio access

LTE access layer:

LTE radio implemented by a data card connected to the laptop via USB (provided by
LGE)
Embedded SW is in charged to establish the LTE connection including ePC
authentication (U-SIM)
IP address provided by embedded DHCP within PGW
IP link available for any Application functions, whatever the type of traffic (HTTP,
FTP, RTP, SIP, …)

IMS Software client for VoIP overIMS:

 Alcatel-Lucent softphone 5440 PC Client
G.711 codec is supported for basic VoIP
Client registration/authentication for Voice over IMS using http digest method
