Information on the patch software to modify the misdetection of the power supply

The machines with the Processor Control PCB (J390878-01) may detect the power supply frequency as 60 Hz by
mistake even in the 50 Hz areas. So, we will release the patch software to improve the accuracy of detecting the
frequency. When this detection failure occurs, the replenishment amount and water supply (only SM specification) will
decrease to five sixth of each amount.

The possibility this problem occurs in the “J380878-00” of the Processor Control PCB and the Processor PCB used in
QSS-28 to 31 is very rare and we will not release the patch software for them.
Moreover, this problem is not applied to the 60 Hz areas and the patch software is unnecessary in the areas.

How to check the detected frequency, 50 or 60 Hz

Check the power supply frequency in the Input Check mode.

The machines (serial numbers) this modification is necessary are listed in another file.
Refer to another file.

Permanent countermeasure
We will modify this problem in the next software version.

Precautions when installing the patch software:

Be sure to verify the following two points before installing the patch software and must not mistake
them.
1. System version
(The patch software can be installed in only the specified versions.)
2. Model
(Different patch software is applied to each model.)

The system version of QSS main body needs to be the following one to install this patch software.
Before installing this software, verify the system version of QSS main body.

* 1 The patch software for Ver. 2.00 of QSS-33xx or QSS-33xx PRO is different from the one
for 3.00. So, be sure to confirm the version name in the label on the floppy disk
before installing.

1. Start the system of QSS.

Start the system of QSS.

2. Open the floppy disk drive.

Insert the floppy disk of the Patch software into the floppy disk drive.
Double click the My Computer and open the floppy disk drive.
(No problem will occur even if the program is running at this time.)

3. Copy the files.

Copy the “proc1.sys” in the root directory of the floppy disk into the specific folder in
“C:¥Noritsukoki¥QSS-32_33¥Data¥Sys”.
When the message to confirm you about the overwritten appears, overwrite all data.
(If this message does not appear, you may mistake the directory which you copied into.)

4. Enter the service personnel password

Enter the service personnel password to go into the Service Mode.

5. Upgrade only the processor software

Select［Extension］, [Maintenance], [Software Upgrade], and [Software Upgrade (HD)].
Check the box at the Processor to upgrade only the software and click [YES: Execute].

6. Check the software version.

Select ［Extension］, [Maintenance], and [System Version Check]. Then, verify that the version of the processor is as
follows.

7. Verify the frequency of the power supply

Select ［Extension］, [Maintenance], [Input Check], [Processor], and [Processor Section].
Verify that the frequency of the power supply is displayed correctly.

8. Verify each pump output amount of replenishment pump and water supply (only in SM specification).
