A. Perform process engineering tasks during feed study and project execution.
B. Review customer specifications and inquiries in support of proposal team.
C. Process design responsibility for process equipment packages.
D. Lead requisition engineer on critical process equipment.
E. Work independently with minimal supervision.
F. Often take a lead role directing the activities of other process team members.
1. Evaluate customer inquiries and specifications in support of proposal team to determine
the best process or equipment design for the application. Includes determining the
required scope of work to be provided and developing the best strategy to win the
technical proposal.
2. Design equipment to match specifications or clearly define differences (clarifications or
exceptions list) to customer.
3. Develop “deliverables” for cost estimating, design engineering, and drafting.
4. Creation of all process feed / project deliverables. Ensure that all documents match
and that any changes are picked up on all applicable documentation.
5. Perform complex process simulations utilising Schlumberger defined software.
6. Create / review / comment on complex PFDs and P&IDs.
7. Recommend, specify and requisition major buy-out equipment items such as heat
exchangers and pumps.
8. Perform equipment process design.
9. Perform line sizing calculations.
10. Process input with selection and location of level control equipment.
11. Recommend control valve types and define PSV sizing basis.
12. Develop in-depth knowledge of all Schlumberger products and their technical design
features and application.
13. Generate Control Narrative and Control Philosophy in conjunction with instrumentation
discipline.
14. Attend client clarification and kick off meetings as required.
15. Develop cause and effect charts and participate in client HAZOP or lead internal
HAZOP.
16. Produce Installation, Operating (Start-up and Shut-down) & Maintenance Instruction
manuals, including lists for Consumables, Special Tools, Lubricants, and Utilities.
17. Produce training materials and run training sessions.
18. Prepare instructions for Long Term Storage of equipment.
19. Perform review of Project Job Manuals.
20. Develop equipment data sheets and review equipment weights.
21. Perform Peer Reviews of team design work including proposals, deliverables, and
fabrication drawings.
22. Provide technical support for trouble shooting.
23. Perform on site start-up and / or troubleshooting.
24. Assist Logistics with developing import and export documentation for systems and
products.
25. Approve and follow engineering project schedule, coordinate design work with global
resource as applicable, input to man-hour estimates and utilize MOC process.
