ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND CHANGE

Question No. 3: Organizations spend thousands of funds and many hours putting
together information packs and communication plans to explain organizational changes,
but no amount of information, no matter how rational will seem move those who chose
not to be moved. Managers are confounded by the fact that the employees resist any
form of change whether changes are better for the organization. As a manager or
manager-to be, how can you encourage the teachers to embrace organizational change
in your workplace? What are your implementing strategies to hit change management?

As a manager-to-be these are the implementing strategies to hit change management

1. Choose the right change – The change process, especially at the beginning, can
often be challenging and unpredictable. Identifying and selecting the right change
agents will help support the change process and keep it running smoothly. Key
attributes might include choosing individuals.
2. Make the change desirable – help your people understand the need for the change
in the organization by discussing problems with the current system and soliciting
advice in making the change successful.
3. Make the change relevant – present the outline of the organization’s goal and
illustrating how to change will help achieve them.
4. Communicate the change on all levels – As a leader we should always make a good
communication among the members of the organization. A manager should provide
more detail based on the way the change affects the members of one organization.
5. Time it right – The members of the organization tend to resist change more when it
is sudden and they have little time to adjust. It is important to release change
information as soon as possible, then roll out the change in incremental steps.

As a manager-to be, win first the support of the people under your care and they will
support you even up to the last part of the battle.
