DEDICATION

This research is lovingly dedicate to our Almighty God for his guidance in making

this research. To our respective parents, who have been our constant source of

inspiration. Without their love and support, the project would not have made possible.

ABSTRACT

The study assessed the perception of grade 11 students to the Jones Rural School

library: sources used and additional needs. The main methodology of the study is a

qualitative type of research which made use of a phenomenological approach. The aim of

the study is to determine the sources that the students usually use in gathering

information at the library and to comprehend what are the additional sources of

information that the students wanted to include in the library. In order to gather the

necessary data, a total of fifty (50) participants were chosen by the use of simple random

sampling. Data were gathered through the use of a questionnaire and were organized,

analyzed, and interpreted. The findings of the study shows that the most common source

of information the students use is books while majority of the participants mentioned that

they want computer and internet in the library. The study identified that the library

materials is lacking. This are the reason why most of the students are going to the library

only when it is necessary. Therefore, the study recommends that the library should take

necessary actions to improve its services to raise the frequency of library use by the

students and to include additional sources of information to meet the range of information

that the students need.
