Teacher Student/ Students

“I will play a video of a

news anchor and a news reporter
reporting news about the incoming
election. You observe the exchange
of conversation between the two and
how they deliver the report to the people.” “ Okay, Sir.”

(After watching the video)

Motive Questions:
“What is the video all about?” “The video is all about
the incoming election.”

Activity
The class will be divided into two groups and they will be assigned to discuss the
the differences between direct and indirect speech.

Teacher Student/ Students

“I will divide the class into two groups

and each group will be assigned to discuss
the differences between direct and
indirect speech.”
Motive Questions:
“Each group should choose 3 reporters “Okay, Sir!”
to discuss your topic in front of the class.“

Analysis Teacher Student/ Students

“What are the differences between direct

and indirect speech?” “Direct speech describes when
something is being repeated
exactly as it was – usually in
between a pair of inverted
commas. Indirect speech will still
share the same information – but
instead of expressing someone’s
comments or speech by directly
repeating them, it involves
reporting or describing what was
said. An obvious difference is
that with indirect speech, you
won’t use inverted commas. “

Teacher Student/ Students

Abstraction
What do you think is the importance of “ Sir. it helps us to engage us more
direct and indirect speech in our daily life? than reported speech does. Direct
speech helps to show what a
character is really like. Another
advantage of direct speech is that it
can add variety to a person's writing.”

Teacher Student/ Students

Application
“In this activity, you will be divided by
pair and each one will play an important
role.”

Directions:

Each pair has to agree on who would

be the interviewer and the interviewee.

They will decide what profession/occupation

the interviewee would be.

Then reporter has to create 5 questions to

be answered by the interviewee.

After the interview, the reporter will report

the result of his/her interview to the class.

The teacher will give 2 points per correct

question and answer and that is a total of
(10) points for their performance.

“Did you get it?” “Yes, Sir!”
