Rail Run
1 Game Overview
1.1 Game Concept
Idea - Rail Run is an endless run game, players are challenged to achieve the highest
score among all players in the world.
Players’ role - players must run as far as possible and collecting highest score in the
game.
Challenges – player must avoid all obstacle in game, if they fail to avoid it the game is
game over. This game have 3 level (easy, medium, hard) to challenges
player. Every level have different run speed.
Actions – collect coins, take power up, jump, avoid obstacle (move to right / left).
Competition mode – yes (offline & online).

1.2 Genre
Rail Run genre is arcade, endless run, action, 3D.

1.3 Target Audience


Rail Run target audience is 9++ years old player.

1.4 Game Flow Summary


Character in the game will auto run and the player control the character to collect coins
/ power up and avoid all obstacle in game. Player can only move to left (press key ‘A’
or ‘’), right (press key ‘D’ or ‘’), and jump (press key ‘Space’) in the game. Coin,
power up and obstacle randomly spawn in the game. Power up give the player shield
and protect player 1 time from obstacle (power up duration 5 sec). The game is end
when player fail to avoid obstacle.

2 Gameplay and Mechanics


2.1 Gameplay
Rail Run is an endless run game, players are challenged to achieve the highest score
among all players in the world. The score is based on the distance that’s player played.
Player can get extra score from collecting coins in the game. So, to get the highest
score, players must run as far as possible and collecting coins / treasures and avoid all
obstacle in the game. Character in the game will auto run and the player control the
character to collect coins / power up and avoid all obstacle in game. Player can only
move to left (press key ‘A’ or ‘’), right (press key ‘D’ or ‘’), and jump (press key
‘Space’) in the game. Coin, power up and obstacle randomly spawn in the game.
Power up give the player shield and protect player 1 time from obstacle (power up
duration 5 sec). The game is end when player fail to avoid obstacle.

2.2 Mechanics
2.2.1 Physics
Physical will be same to reality. There will be running endlessly and jump, and the
speed will be increased.

2.2.2 Movement
Player can only move to left (press key ‘A’ or ‘’), right (press key ‘D’ or
‘’), and jump (press key ‘Space’).
2.2.3 Objects
Player can take coin and power up, and will be over once they hit obstacle.

2.2.4 Action
This button will be based on keyboard PC :

A or  = Move to left

D or  = Move to right

Space = Jump
Esc = Pause

2.2.5 Economy
The coins collected from game will be stored for more high score.

3 Story, Setting and Character


3.1Story and Narrative
The story will be very short, as the character will run endlessly in the rail while avoid
obstacle.

3.2Game World
The Enviroment of this game will be include this :

3.3Characters

This is the main character of this game. It include running animation that look like
this

4 Levels
4.1Easy
Easy level is for new players / beginners, in this level the speed of character run is
very slow and will add low speed with lower score.

4.2Medium
Medium level is for intermediate players, in this level the speed of character run is
normal and will add medium speed with moderate score.

4.3Hard
Hard level is for expert players, in this level the speed of character run is very fast and
will add huge speed with greater score.

5 Interface
5.1Visual System
Score for calculate the score while the game is still ongoing, highscore for latest and
highest score, pause for pause everything and let the pause canvas on the screen. And
there will be object and environment for character to running into.

5.2Control System
Player can only move to left (press key ‘A’ or ‘’), right (press key ‘D’ or ‘’), and
jump (press key ‘Space’).

6 Technical
6.1Target Hardware
Rail,Run game target hardware is pc / notebook (Windows).
6.2Development Hardware & Software
To develop Rail Run game we need the hardware computer / notebook with minimum
specification to install & run Unity software with minimum version 2019.2.6f.

6.3 Network Requirements


This game is available to play without internet connection (offline).
