Kalimat Pertanyaan (?) Do / Does + Subjek + Verb 1 + Objek ?

Keterangan:
 Penggunaan akhiran s/es hanya untuk subjek berupa He, She, It .
 Akhiran s/es pada kata kata kerja tidak berlaku untuk subjek I, you, we, they dan
sejenisnya.
 Penambahan s/es hanya untuk kalimat positif (+).
 Do berpasangan dengan I, you, we, they .
 Does berpasangan dengan He, She, it
 Perhatikan dengan seksama contoh- contoh dalam tabel dibagian selanjutnya.

Kata- kata ini biasanya digunakan dalam tenses simple present, walaupun tidak juga diwajibkan
kemunculannya.

Rumus Present Continuous Tense
Untuk membentuk kalimat present continuous tense, kita harus menerapkan rumus be + present
participle (-ing) pada kata kerja utama.
Bentuk Rumus Present Continuous Tense Contoh Kalimat
Positif She is sleeping right now
(+) Subjek + be (am/is/are) + verb (-ing) + … We are studying today
Negatif She is not sleeping right now
(-) Subjek +be (am/is/are) + not + verb (-ing) + … We are not studying today
Interrogatif Is she sleeping right now?
(?) Be (am/is/are) + subjek + verb (-ing) + …? Are we studying today?

Contoh Kalimat Positif

1. I am reading a book at the moment. (Saya sedang membaca buku saat ini)
2. She is washing her hair now. (Dia (cewek) sedang mencuci rambutnya sekarang)
3. They are playing basket ball right now. (Mereka sedang bermain bola basket
sekarang ini juga)
4. He is writing a novel. (Dia (cowok) sedang menulis novel)
5. We are baking some bread. (Kami sedang memanggang roti).
Contoh Kalimat Negatif
1. She is not wearing a seat belt. (Dia (cewek) tidak sedang mengenakan sabuk pengaman).
2. They are not listening to you. (Mereka tidak sedang menyimak kamu).
3. He is not yelling at me. (Dia (cowok) tidak sedang teriak dengan saya).
4. We are not either whispering or speaking. (Kami tidak sedang berbisik atau berbicara).
5. I am not smoking. (Saya tidak sedang merokok).
Contoh Kalimat Interogatif
1. Are you eating my chocolate? (Apakah kamu sedang makan coklat saya?
2. Is she taking a bath now? (Apakah dia (cewek) sedang mandi sekarang?
3. Are they watching soccer at the moment? (Apakah mereka sedang menonton
pertandingan sepak bola saat ini?
4. Is he watering the flower? (Apakah dia (cowok) sedang menyiram bunga?
5. Are we talking about sport or health? (Apakah kita sedang membicarakan tentang
