All plays can run for a maximum duration of 50 minutes. A 5 minute grace period can be
given as per the discretion of the judges. The curtains will be drawn 15 minutes after the
final bell has been rung, i.e., at the 70th minute.
Plays will be timed from empty stage to empty stage, including the time taken to set up
stage to the time the stage is clear of all actors, sets and props. Judges are advised to
penalize any team which exceeds the given time limit.
Any damage caused to the stage or any property of St. Stephen’s College will result in
strict action being taken against the liable team and may lead to disqualification.
Smoking or consumption of alcohol on stage or in any part of the college premises is
illegal and will attract severe penalties.
A strike system is being employed, as per which failure to meet any of the deadlines for
the submission of the script, lights plan, poster, etc, or violation of any of the rules will
result in a strike. Three strikes will lead to the disqualification of the offending team.
Any issues regarding copyright of adapted plays is the responsibility of the
team concerned. The Shakespeare Society will not be held liable for any lapses in this
regard.
The Shakespeare Society will not bear any travel or accommodation expenses for any of
the teams coming from outside Delhi, nor will they bear any expenses for any of the
external teams.
Any queries regarding anything related to the performance should be directed to a
member of the Shakespeare Society.
