Datafill errors when trying to Datafill NT9X30AC

Notice: BULLETIN ID: 2003004575, Rev 3

This bulletin [replaces] bulletin 2003004575.2. This update has PUBLISHED: 2004-02-23
been issued to communicate some new information regarding STATUS: Retired
the issue. REGION: All
PRIORITY: Major
TYPE: Alert

Reissue Reason:
Added Note to Recommendations

Background:
You will encounter errors when trying to datafill NT9X30AC in tables ENCDINV and SUSSHELF without the appropriate
patches applied. Patch CUT40 is required in the CM to extend the data dictionary to allow the datfill of NT9X30AC in
tables ENCDINV and SUSHELF. In addition, patches CUT42, CUT43, and CUT44 allow the maintenance software in the
various peripherals to recognize the new +5V power converter PEC NT9X30AC.

Analysis:
The data dictionary is used by table control software when data filling tables ENCDINV and SUSHELF to screen for valid
circuit pack PEC codes.

Patch CUT40 extends the data dictionary to include the NT9X30AC so that tables ENCDINV and SUSHELF can be data
filled with NT9X30AC for the positive power converter.

Patch CUT42 allows the ENET shelves to recognize the new PEC NT9X30AC when the IDPROM scanning audit is
performed. CUT43 enhances the FLIS to allow PEC NT9X30AC to be scanned properly.

Patch CUT44 is necessary to allow LIM shelves to scan NT9X30AC correctly. All three peripheral patches can be applied
to their respective peripheral regardless of whether or not an NT9X30AC is data filled or equipped. It is recommended
that all patches be applied to the appropriate peripherals in a given office as follows:

CM - CUT40
MS - CUT43 and CUT44
ENET - CUT42
LIM - CUT44

Recommendations:
Verify if appropriate patches are applied before trying to datafill any NT9X30AC to any card inventory tables.
For:
CM - CTC07 (for NA0015 only) and CUT40
ENET - CUT42
FLIS - CUT43
MS/LIM - CUT44

Required Actions:
DATAFILL ERRORS WHEN TRYING TO DATAFILL NT9X30AC 2003004575, REV 3

Verify the patch by the following commands at the DMS map terminal:

>PRSM
>REPORT PRSU <patch_name>
>QUIT ALL

Note: If CUT43 is needed it has special instructions that are needed and should be followed.

If patch is loaded and applied continue with your installation otherwise contact your next level of support. The appropriate
patches need to be applied to the device regardless if a NT9X30AC power is converter is present.
The appropriate data dictionary changes have been sourced in CSP20 and patches are currently being developed and
should be downloaded once available.

CSP15 are scheduled for Week 42, 2003

All other releases are scheduled for Week 45, 2003
