GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITY


I. RATIONALE: Reading is essential. It is a skill that should not
be taught once but continuously. Also, reading is a
tool that can help a learner widen his/her
knowledge. It gives every learner an opportunity to
explore, imagine and even create many things.
The Department of Education (DepEd) shall
spearhead the nationwide celebration of 2019
National Reading Month (NRM) with the theme,
Magbasa’t Umunlad, this November to promote love
for reading. This is in connection with DepEd’s
commitment to provide quality, accessible, relevant
and liberating basic education for all and to lay the
foundation for lifelong learning and service for the
common good.
Topical Village National High School, in support to
DepEd Order No. 158, s. 2019 will observe the 2019

National Reading Month wherein teachers and
students shall join the nationwide synchronized story
reading time on November 27, 2019, 9:00 a.m.
Philippine Standard Time (PST). Followed by
simultaneous activities like Leaders of readers, Share
a Book and Help a reader. Be a Volunteer.

II. OBJECTIVES: a. promote reading to learners


b. develop and enhance the reading skill of the
students that are identified as struggling readers

education program;
2) well equipped ALS Implementers and supervisors on

Enclosure E. Terms of Reference
1. The Executive Team
 Serves as overall decision and policy making body in
coordination with the technical working teams.
 Monitors the timeline in the conduct of the activity
2. The Planning Team
 Drafts and submits the training proposal for approval.
 Finalizes the training matrix and communicates the same to all
the teams.
 Directs the flow of the activity.
3. The Registration
 Provides registration sheet for all the participants.
 Keeps the records of attendance of the participants
 Checks the attendance in the morning or afternoon session each
day or if done only on half day.
4. The Accommodation Team
 Coordinates with the personnel in charge of the venue to be
used
 Prepares chairs, presidential tables, LCD projectors, boards and
pentel pens as needed.
5. The Documentation Team
 Records the proceedings of the activity
 Compiles all the documents relative to the training
 Organizes the documents and submits the same to the executive
team.
 Captures important proceedings in pictures and in videos.
6. The Program Team
 Designs and drafts program for the activity.
7. Certificate Committee
 Prepares certificates for the participants and the resource
speaker
8. Quality Assurance, Technical Assistance, Monitoring and
Evaluation (QATAME)
 Ensures that Quality Assurance standards and regulations are
met by the organizing committee in the conduct of the training
 Consolidates feedback/evaluation and submit quality assurance
report of the activity
9) Medical Team ---ensures the health and overall welfare of the
participants
