that important. It links with the idea of globalization too since it is closely related. Next,
examines different ideas seeking the idea of the need of learning English as a second language
and finally it shows you against this another idea in contrast to it.

Learning English is essential for you to have success in life. Success specially in the labour and
educational field.

It is widely known that learning English is beneficial for you due to many reasons that will be
exposed through the whole argumentative text and this why you should learn it.

Background:

More than two billion people across the globe are able to speak in English.

English is recognised as an international language used in all european important events.

It is also considered the third most spoken language after Chinese and Spanish.

English is the most thaught language as a foreign language.

According to statistics, It is the official language in 55 states in the world.

Arguments:

The education field plays an important role here since it is thanks to that that most
students have English language as a second language. In fact, most countries do not give you
the chance to choose to learn English at school, but it is obligatory to study since you are three
or four years old onwards.

We can also mention international businesses since they have been also a reason for
many people to learn English as a need to make business.
 It is also necessary to be able to watch films. Most films are doubled in most countries
however not all the countries, we can mention Portugal where films are shown in original
version. In fact, this is a good reason their level of language is higher than in other

In most cases, English films and programs have a big impact to audiences when they are in
English. Examples such as Big Bang theory, game of thrones, etc...most entertaining
fashionable programs that are on TV recently.

English is considered an easy language due to its basic grammar especially. English has
many words from other languages. It has got some Greek, French and Latin elements what
makes it easier. In other words, it a language that is easy to learn.

Moreover, it is a flexible language thanks to its wide range of vocabulary to choose

from. It is reachable to find a word since there are many to say the same. We can say there
are several ways to say something.

English language became popular time ago, as a start for the computer’s new market.
Computers started to be a need and to feel that basic English was need to start writing an
email or just turning on and off the computer since all the computer programming was in
English. In fact, we can mention that some terms are now in our everyday language as part of
our native language such as log in.

It links with travelling too. We can realise that English language is also essential to
communicate to each other while travelling to other countries.

It started to be famous specially in China because of the need to work and earn money
cooperating with other countries. This made Chinese people realise the importance of English
language. In fact, statistics say that Chinese people are the ones who most spend money to
make children learn English to avoid having problems in a future with language barriers.

Counter argument:

In contrast to evidence which presents the view that learning English is essential an
alternative perspective illustrates that elderly people can find some trouble here.
One might object here the difficulties that this can be caused to elderly people who need to
start to learn a new language at a different age. It's true that they will find it hard to start
learning a new language.

But how could we do it to make them feel motivated and make them feel able to reach the
goal?

In addition to this, some people may say that English people should learn also the language
of the country they visit. They think they have gotten comfortable with learning a new
language because of this point. There is a general idea from most people who claim their
effort to start learning new languages too to English people.

Apart from that there is a big difficulty for everyone which is not been inmersed into the
native country. As we know L2 can be learnt easier in a native speaker country but we are
aware of it. Many education institutions are working these last years with it with programmes
such as Leonardo Da Vinci, Commenius, etc that brings students abroad to learn English being
involved and inmersed during the whole day what makes learning a second language more
successful.

To sum up, this assignment has addressed a number of significant issues which show that
there has been a rapid growth of the English language across the world and now it is essential
and a requirement for everybody.
