Grade 7 to 10 identified frustrated readers
RATIONALE
One of the flagship programs of the Department of Education: “Every Child A Reader
Program,” aims to make every Filipino child a reader and a writer at his/her grade level. An
outgrowth of this is the Brigada Basa that is aimed towards lessening if not eradicating the presence
of frustration/struggling readers. This also encourages the use of library as a repository of learning
materials and other educational references in print or digital formats.
With this initiative in mind, the proponent would like to request the procurement of various
visual and auditory equipment, as well as equipment for reproduction of reading copies that will
provide personalized, authentic and experience-rich learning for the students. This will increase
the students’ interest in reading as well as their competency in the aforementioned macroskills.
