The problem on energy crisis is coupled with another problem on the over-usage of fossil fuel as means of generating Behavioral and

power. The use of alternative is advised. The utility of an ordinary oil lamp cannot be understated especially during
emergency cases. This study aimed to determine the effect of using different amount of salt as additive in used vegetable Biochemistry
cooking oil as fuel in lamp. The research design employed was the Post Test Only Control Group. The study utilized four Cellular &

treatments in three trials: Treatment A (10% by mass of salt), Treatment B (20% by mass of salt), Treatment C (30% by

mass of salt) and Treatment D, as the control group. Twelve improvised lamps and aluminum foil (used to trap the soot)

were prepared. The mixture of oil and salt were placed in each assigned treatment. Both lamps and foils were
pre-weighed and recorded. Lamps were lighted simultaneously and put off after 15 minutes. Lamps and foil were Earth Science
re-weighed. The determined difference in mass of lamps (oil consumed) and foil (soot produced) were computed. The Eng: Electrical &

intensity of light was determined using the light intensity meter. To describe the data gathered, the mean and standard

deviation were used. For inferential statistics, the ANOVA and DMRT set at 0.05 alpha levels was used. Statistical Bioengineering
computations were done using the PASW Program. Result showed that addition of salt lessens the oil consumption and Energy &
the produced black soot. In terms of light intensity, addition of salt does not show any significant effect. Transportation
