BSED-SOCIAL STUDIES 2-2 NARRATIVE As our journey on the subject Facilitating Learner-Centered Teaching is about to draw conclusion, Dr. Macabenta told us to prepare for a teaching demonstration as our final performance. In this teaching demonstration we are going to choose a Senior High School subject that is in with our major, Social Studies. Through this we can apply all the things and concepts that we have learned in Educ 2. In this activity we will create and present a detailed lesson plan of the topic, complete with motivations and proper classroom management. It was initially decided that the demonstration will be done individually but due to some time constraints Dr. Macabenta is undergoing with her classes and the impending accreditation, it was then changed to a peer demonstration of 4 students per group. After that was being announced, we immediately grouped ourselves and decided what topic shall we be pouring into for our demonstration. December 13, 2019- the final scheduled date for the peer demonstration after numerous postponements, we the students are ready for it. Before starting, we were being told by Dr. Macabenta about the criteria/rubrics of the peer demonstration for us to be aware on how she is gonna be scoring us. It was said that she will be measuring us via our lesson plan, presentation, classroom management and motivation. All in all, there were 11 groups that presented: Group 1-Economic Institutions Group 7-How A Bill Becomes a Law Group 2-Religion Group 8-World Beliefs Group 3-Monarchy Group 9-Status and Roles Group 4-Identity Group 10- The Family Group 5-Zoroastrianism Group 11-Powers of the President Group 6- Culture After the demonstration that happened, Dr.Macabenta have some few remarks about our performances. She pointed out that our objectives should be appropriate, behavioral and must encompass all the three domains of learning (cognitive, psychomotor and affective). Some of us followed correctly and some did not which was pointed out later by Dr. Macabenta. In this demonstration, we learned that we should have an adequate background about a certain topic before we delve on it. Following Bloom’s Taxonomy in cognitive, psychomotor and affective in formulating your goals, objectives and outcomes is essential. Lastly, motivation is key in getting your students attention. In general, us undergoing this demonstration is a sneak peak or a quick immersion for us into what goes down when we became teachers in the future. DOCUMENTATION
