After the death of Quaid-e-Azam on 11th September 1948, the responsibility of framing the
constitution fell on the shoulders of the first Prime Minister, Liaquat Ali Khan. This resolution was
passed by the First Constituent Assembly in March 1949 under the leadership of Liaquat Ali Khan.

While introducing the resolution in the Constituent Assembly, Liaquat Ali Khan said:
'''''"The ideals that promised the demand for Pakistan should form the corner stone of the state.
When we use the word 'Democracy' in the Islamic sense it pervades all aspects of life. It relates to
the system of government and to our society will equal validity because one of the greatest
contributions of Islam has been the equality of men."'''''
When Liaquat Ali Khan visited America, in the course of his speech at New Orleans, he said,
'''''"We believe in God and his Supreme sovereignty because we believe that civic life must have an
ethical content and a higher purpose. But democracy, social justice, equality of opportunity and
equality before the law of all citizens irrespective of their race and creed are also aspects of faith
with us."'''''
After passing the Objective Resolution, the Constituent Assembly of Pakistan set up a "Basic
Principle Committee" to spell out proposals for the constitution in accordance with the guidelines
contained in the Objective Resolution.
==Conclusion==
All the above mentioned principles were present in the Objective Resolution that is why this
resolution is considered an important event in the constitutional history of the country. It was
accepted by all classes of people. It provided a guide line for the future constitutions of Pakistan
which were passed in 1956, 1962 and 1973. It consisted of such principles which revealed that
character of constitution shall be Islamic.

well as far as the objective resolution is concerned, u have presented it very well but like most of the aspirant, u have
missed one most important thing and that is critical analysis. Examiner didnt want to judge Ur abilities to cram the
topic. what he wants to see is how well prepared ur opinion and understanding are regarding the topic. so Analyze
every topic in your own words at the end
Marks 5/10
good attempt just missing a few things, Intro could have been better like defining the objective resolution.
You could start like this After the independence of Pakistan, the first hurdle was the formation of its own constitution
!! then you could write what objective resolution is bla bla
Main thing which you are missing is the Critical Analysis. What did you understand from this resolution. You just
jotted down the main points of the resolution but you have to give your own analysis on it. Overall nice attempt i
would still give you 5.5/10
Regards
waqarj
plz write your crytical analysis of the question.let me see how to write crytical analysis?

You have touched a very important topic of Pakistan Affairs.According to my experience,Pak.Aff can be scoring if u
learn the art of producing and presenting an answer marked by your logical and critical analysis.
when you talk about the O.R,after defining and explaining its main points just forget that you are a Muslim and a
definite subcriber to the two-nation theory.you must also take the view point of the critics of the O.R e.g(Hindus and
some Muslims like Iftikhar ud Din) who vehemently opposed the very rationale of the O.R.And you see that even today
there are certain scholars and historians who believe that the O.R. was nothing but just an attempt to appease the
religious class of the country. These critics opine that the O.R.confused religion with polity unnecessarily. In the end u
can simply conclude that inspite of all the opposition and criticism of the O.R.,the fact remains that the O.R proved
first step in the constitution making of Pakistan and set a tone for future Constitutions of the country.Infact,it serves
as the Magna carta of the constitutional history of Pakistan.
