EXPERIENCE
CHICAGO PUBLIC LIBRARY, CHICAGO, IL SEPTEMBER 2007PRESENT
Currently working as a Librarian I at Carter G. Woodson Regional Library. Providing reference
service, ordering books, teaching computer classes, planning and hosting programs.

PROJECTS:

CPL Maker Lab (20132015): Taught classes, supervised interns, maintained equipment and
helped patrons realize their projects using 3D printers, laser cutters, vinyl cutters, knitting
machines and CNC router.
Page Supervisor (20112014): Supervised the library pages at Woodson Regional. Overhauled
page procedures, resulting in faster, more consistent shelving, even after more than half of our
pages were laid off due to budget cuts.
Teen Librarian (20102011): Ran the Teen Department at Woodson Regional. Hosted
programs, ordered books and performed outreach.
Rout-O-Matic (2009present): Built a report generator, still in use today, for the daily holds
router (a list of items to pull and send to other branches) that separates the list by section,
dramatically speeding up the task of searching for and retrieving holds.
Job Guide (20082013): Created and maintained Helpful Hints for Job Hunters, a print resource
for patrons seeking employment advice. The popularity and content of the Job Guide later served
as the basis for the update to CPLs online Especially for Job Searchers resource, in which I
was a major participant.
