 INTRODUCTION

Present continuous, past continuous it is a verb tense that describes actions that were being
performed at a time in the past to which reference is made and then continued, for example:
Yesterday he was studying English. Yesterday he was studying English. (He began studying
before that time and continued studying later). The auxiliary verb "to be" and the gerund
(infinitive + "-ing") of the verb are used to form the past continuous. The auxiliary verb "to
be" is in the past simple, but keep in mind that "to be" is an irregular verb.

The students are going to write a newspaper article about a robbery in a public place. Try

On Thursday night, a new massive robbery was presented to several citizens who were
mobilizing in a bus of the Integrated Public Transportation System (SITP) in Bogotá.
According to witnesses, at about 8 p.m., three criminals carrying firearms entered the bus
waiting for the change of traffic lights on 53rd Street with 50th career.
Immediately the panic seized the situation. The assailants intimidated five passengers and
stripped them of their cell phones, bags, bags and cash.
In the middle of the theft one of the users hit one of the criminals causing him to shoot to
avoid being arrested.
Then, the robbers tried to flee but thanks to the help voices of the victims, a patrol reacted
and intercepted them when they tried to escape in a taxi that was waiting for them.
Despite the police reaction, two of the thieves managed to escape with some of the
belongings. Even so, two of the assailants were captured.

CONCLUSIONS
The globalization of companies in these modern times has made necessary and
fundamental knowledge of more than one language; therefore, it is necessary to strengthen
the learning of English and other languages
