Irregular past and past participle forms of verbs are usually difficult to learn and remember.
To help you remember them easier, the verbs below have been classified in groups. Only
common verbs have been included in the list.
GROUP NO. 1
The verbs in group No. 1 don't take changes in the SIMPLE FORM, PAST, and the PAST PARTICIPLE,
so that all forms are the same. Only the verb READ is a little different, because even though its forms
don't change, its pronunciation changes. The PAST and PAST PARTICIPLE are pronounced like the
SIMPLE FORM PAST PAST PART. SIMPLE FORM PAST PAST PART.
GROUP NO. 2
The verbs in group No. 2 take a vowel change from the SIMPLE FORM to the PAST to the PAST
PARTICIPLE, and in all cases the change is from an "i" to an "a" to a "u" for each one of the forms.

GROUP NO. 3
The PAST and the PAST PARTICPLE forms of the verbs in group No. 3 do not change.

GROUP NO. 4
The verbs in group No. 4 add an -N, -EN or -NE to their SIMPLE FORM or in some cases to their PAST FORM to
construct the PAST PARTICIPLE.

GROUP NO. 5
The SIMPLE FORM and the PAST PARTICIPLE of the verbs in group No. 5 look alike. The PAST FORM is
different.
