Package Instrumentation Check List

IMPORTANT: For this, and subsequent chapters of this Manual, if an item of
equipment requires change out for any reason, an entry must be made in the Site
L Change Out Sheet located in Appendix 26 of this Manual. This document must
then be returned to Houston when the Installation and Commissioning
procedures are complete.
Introduction
This chapter covers all the following areas and check points;
1. Combustion Air Intake System
2. Ventilation Air Intake System
3. Gas Turbine Package Combustion Dynamics (Acoustic) System
4. Gas Turbine Lubricating Oil Systems (including Driven Unit)
5. Gas Turbine Hydraulic Oil Systems (including Driven Unit where applicable)
6. Gas Turbine Seal and Breather Systems
7. Gas Fuel System
8. Liquid Fuel System
9. Driven Unit Seal and Breather Systems
10. Package Starter System
11. Package Water Wash System
12. Water Injection System
13. Steam Injection System
14. Vent and Drains System
15. Package DLE Exhaust Monitoring (if required).
Note: It is the intention of this chapter to cover the integrity of all systems listed
above.
Prior to dispatch all instrumentation listed above will have been check calibrated

and a certificate produced by the frame and systems department personnel (this
may not be applicable to sub-vendor supplied equipment). The calibration
certificate will accompany the turbine package to site including, where applicable,
the driven unit calibration certificate. If the calibration certificates are not on site,
copies can be obtained by contacting SIEMENS Houston location Quality
Department.

Combustion Air Intake System

Check and make sure that safe access is adhering to local/site
and SIEMENS safety policies and instructions prior to any
inspections/checks taking place. Make sure assembly is
complete as per the contract specific P & ID. Note the
reference document below. Ensure all pipe work, valves,
plugs, and instrumentation and supports are complete and
sound. Ensure Bonding/Earthing across flanges is complete.

Ensure that all associated drain valves are operational and are
2 left in the correct position as indicated by the contract specific
P & ID.
IMPORTANT: Calibration of the Instrumentation need only take place if

L certification is not available or it has expired. Store certificates at rear of this
section.
Check the calibration of all the instrumentation fitted to this
section, as identified on the contract specific P & ID. Where
the calibration has expired or there is no certification,
complete testing/record sheets as per QCP 263 –
Calibration/Pressure and Leak Testing Procedure of Turbine
Package Instrumentation, located in Appendix 12 of this
Manual. Complete procedures in Appendix 11 of this Manual.
