Bible Numbers & Solar Lunar Cycles
Here is an overview of different lunar cycles
compared to a Tropical solar year, 365.2422 days. This
is to see which bible numbers could be resolved to fit
such cycles. Not less than 25 solar-lunar cycles are
given by numbers found in scripture. Bible numbers
found for key cycles were; 19, 345, 390, 391, & 500
year cycles. A prior finding that both 70AD & 2020
host an amazing set of astronomical events, separated
by five 390Y cycles, 1950 years, initiated this review.
A spreadsheet formula used to evaluate these cycles
is explained below.
The synodic month is the period of the lunar phases,
With a long-term average duration of 29.5306 days.
Another period is called the anomalistic month and
has an average length of 27.55455 days. Because of
the anomaly that the Moon takes a little longer to
return to perigee than to return to the same star, this
period is so termed the anomalistic month. The
Moon’s orbit lies in a plane inclined to the earth sun
rotation plane and cuts this plane at ascending and
descending nodes. This time reference is called the
nodal period, or 27.2122 days. Eclipses can happen at
the transit of these nodes upon either a full or new
moon, at an average of 4 per year. A solar-lunar cycle
corresponds to year counts which match these cycles.
The best known of these cycles is the metonic cycle.
This 19 year cycle is the basis of many calendars,
including the civil or Gregorian calendar and the
associated Easter computus, and also the Rabbinical
Hebrew calendar. The metonic cycle accumulates an
error of only 1 day in 219 years. This is seen upon
evaluation of this simple spreadsheet formula

With P1 being the yearly cycle in question, expressed
in years. P2 is the lunar cycle, in days, of study. The
explanation of this formula can be seen by numerical
example.
However, it is best to digress about how such cycles
can also be determined using a method developed by
George van den Bergh, circa 1950. He stated that
lunar cycles can be defined by n*i+mS, with i & S
being 28.94504 and 18.03. For example, the metonic
cycle is 10i-15S or 19.0004. However some caution

and understanding should be used to proceed in the
application of these formula.
If the MOD expression is evaluated with P1 of
19.0004 years, the resulting accuracy of the synodic
cycle comes up with an offset of 0.0593days or
19.004/0.0593=1Day every 320Y, dropping fractional
years. If on the other hand an exact count of precisely
19 years is used, the offset is 0.0868 days in 19 years
or an error of 1 day in 19/0.0868=219Years.
Which method is correct? In terms of whole years
exactly 9 years, as calendars are defined in whole
years. But in the case of Mosaic lunar-solar Sabbath
calendars it could be 49 whole solar years of
365.2422 days plus an intercalated solar year of
359days, (12 lunar cycles yielding 49.97Y). In most
bible cases the year counts should be taken as whole
years.
Another bible exception could be where irregular
years are referenced, like; times, time, and a half time,
(3.5Yrs) or 42 of 30 day months, or 1260 days, as in
12 months of 30d which are but 360days per 12
months of 30d each for 1 prophetic year.
Practical Applications
Synodic cycles are useful to evaluate cycles of Mosaic
holy days falling in a given solar calendar pattern.
Alternatively the Synodic cycles can determine
spacings of same lunar phase and equinox or solstice.
