Question: Advantage and Disadvantage of Analog and Digital System.

Analog System: An analog system is a system that stores data in a continuous way.
Digital System: A digital system is a system that stores data in a discreet way. Usually, digital
system store the information in a binary way.
There are many advantage and disadvantage between the analog and digital system are given
below:

Analog System:

Advantages:
1. Smaller bandwidth.
2. Synchronization problem is relatively easier.
3. It’s the natural from of a sound.
4. Get a perfect copy of the sound.
5. More accurate representation of a sound.
6. Usually simple.
7. Less tolerance by the term noise of electrical.
8. Rectify faulty components easily.
9. Great lifespan.
10. Ambient weather dependencies are low.
11. Easy to manipulate using mathematical and calculation.

Disadvantages:
1. Expensive analog components : L&C
2. No primary preserved.
3. Cannot merge data from different sources.
4. No error correction capability.
5. Light cost of signal conversion inside the display.
6. Upgrade to digital interface not possible.
7. Not easy to implement.
8. Can’t be saved and transmit under urgency
9. Harder to synchronize.
10. Cables are sensitive to external influences.
11. Copies of tapes always contain small errors.
Digital System:

Advantages:
1. Easy to implement
2. Flexibility with system change, use of standardized receiver and transmitter.
3. Security can add excellent encryption on transmission.
4. Cheaper than analog in specific causes.
5. Save data and retrieve when needed.
6. Inexpensive digital circuits.
7. Privacy preserved.
8. Can merge different data and transit over a common digital transmission system.
9. Error connection by coding.
10. Recorded media is more durable.
11. Much less bulky than analog system.

Disadvantages:
1. Not wide bandwidth.
2. More immune to noise.
3. Cannot rectify faulty components easily as there is software also related with chips.
4. Ambient weather dependencies are high.
5. Highly sensitive depending on handing and electrical tolerance.
6. Low life span as more dependencies on outer source.
7. Sampling error is most common on many causes.
8. Couldn’t move advance chip technology as software is again related.
9. It’s more complex.
10. Harder to fix.
11. Less support for this technology in developing countries.
