3. If you are going to evaluate the k to 12 curriculum, what are the
processes that you are going to take. Provide a concept map
showing the process. (20 points)

Evaluation process determines the effectiveness of a curriculum.

Evaluating the curriculum must undergo a certain process.

EVALUATION

Step 1

I am going to identify first the

objectives or desired learning
outcomes of K to 12 in each
level.

Step 2

After identifying the objectives,

I need to check the process in
meeting the objectives.

Step 3

I will select what instruments I

am going to use, to measure if
the objectives are met.
Step 4 The last process would be the
analysis of the outcomes.
These outcomes or results
serve as an indicator of how
successful or effective the
curriculum in achieving the
goals/desired learning
outcomes.

4. You are a Grade Three teacher of Makabuhay Elementary School.

Out of 35 learners, 5 are readers with comprehension, 9 can read
while the rest are none readers.

A. Considering the k to 12 curriculum, plan how to implement

curriculum change and how to implement it. Give emphasis on the
factors that you will consider. (20 points)

In implementing the curriculum change we need to consider first

the problem arise in the curriculum such as the materials such as
books, facilities, the teachers or the receiver of the curriculum. As
mentioned above there are 5 readers with comprehension, 9 readers
and the rest are none readers.

We need first to consider the competency from Grade 1 if they

achieve it or not. The question is how the pupils will be promoted up
to grade 3 level without competencies in reading and
comprehension? The factors I will consider are the following:

First, there are gaps in the achievement of the competencies in

the curriculum guide.

Second, the teachers might be the problem of the said none

readers. The teacher’s methods/strategies will result to a positive or
negative outcomes. They are the one who will execute the objectives
through series of activities or drills. If the learners don’t have the
competencies to read and comprehend then there is a problem in
the strategies/methods provided for the learners. Teachers should
attend series of seminar-workshop on how to achieve the
performance standards and competencies in the CG.

Third, the materials used by the learners such as books, learning

modules. If there is scarce resources for books and there is high
demands then we can consider it as a problem. The book should be
for all learners to help the teachers in achieving the competencies
stated in the curriculum guide.

Lastly, the learners, the learner is the heart of teaching-learning

process. Some learners are slow in getting the ideas or knowledge
provided by the teacher. We should know how to get where the
students are for us to start new topic or lesson.

In achieving curriculum change, those who are involve must

know their role and responsibilities in delivering the change we
wanted.

B. Diagnosing curriculum change you implemented, how will

you evaluate the learners, their social needs, values and curriculum
problem that may arise. (20 points)

The learners may vary in learning and interest inside the

classroom. What stated in the CG is not applicable to all, that’s why
teachers should have differentiated instruction. We should consider
the intelligence of individual. On the other hand, the learner’s social
needs is an important matter in the curriculum based on the current
conditions and needs of the society. We should develop learners who
can contribute to the society.

With regards to the values, we need to consider subject-matter

which is relevant to needs of the learners. We should teach our
learners that reading is part of life to better understand society.

The effectiveness of the curriculum can be evaluated through

series of achievement test for the learners to identify if there are
difficulties evident in the curriculum.
