Item Sets expected and Important topics understanding

2
The weight of Corporate Finance is 5-15%. So, you may get 1 to 3 item sets from this 3
section. Historically, they have asked 2 item sets from this section. Mergers and 1.5
Acquisition has been one of their favorite area. This time they have added one
additional new chapter(Corporate Performance). So, you may expect few questions 1.5
from that chapter as well. 5

4
3
The weight of Financial Reporting and Analysis is 15-20 percent. So, you will get 4
either 3 or 4 item sets from this area. You can expect 1 item set each from the first 3
chapters and 1 item set from remaining two chapters. Two chapters have been 2
dropped this year from this area. So, most probably you will get 3 item sets only. 1.5

3
4
1 item set will be asked from this subject as its weight is 5-10%. The important areas
are ANOVA table calculations, problems in multiple regression (heteroskedasticiy, 4
serial correlation and multicollinearity) and time series models and their issues. 1

2
4
The most important area of CFA level II curriculum and also the easiest one. Its 4
weight is 15-25 percent. Last year they asked only 3 item sets from it. But this time 5
you can expect 4 item sets from this area. Two small chapters have been dropped 5
from this area this year. The chapters from 30-35 are extremely important with 31st
chapter being the most important. You need to avoid silly mistakes in this area and 4
that can be achieved by practicing more item sets. 4

4
The weight of Fixed Income is 10-20%.They asked only 2 item sets from this area last 2
year. But this time you are likely to get 3 item sets from this area as the 39th chapter 4
which used to be a part of Derivatives has been shifted under this area. The 37th
chapter is the most important one. You must be really good conceptually in this area 4
to score well. 1
4
The weight of AI is 5-10%. So, you are more likely to get only 1 item set from this 3
subject. All sections are important. There are only few formulas. Concentrate on
memorising those formulas. Doing blue box examples from book is advisable to ace 5
this subject. 2

Concentrate on understanding the valuation of various derivatives instruments and 7

related concepts. The 42nd chapter has been added this time only. So, you may
expect few questions from this chapter. Though 40th and 41st chapters are also new 6
but those topics were earlier as well in last year syllabus. 3

4
The weight of PM is 5-10%. So, you are more likely to get only 1 item set from this 3
topic. Your focus should be on concepts and formulas. Try to memorize and learn how
to derive formulas. Two readings 49th and 52nd have been added this year only. So, 2
you can even get 2 item sets from this area. 49th chapter is important. 1.5

though they asked 2 item sets from it last year. There are too many cumbersome 6
concepts to master to ace this subject. More time will be spent to gain few additional
marks. Tradeoff is not favorable. However, if you want to master the concepts, then 4
do follow curriculum book blue box examples. 1.5

0.5
10
2
The weight of Ethics has been changed from 10% to 10-15% this year. So, you can 0.5
expect 2 to 3 item sets from it. You will most likely get 2 item sets only as 1 reading 0.5
related to Soft Dollars has been removed this time. Chapters 1,2,3,7 and 8 are 0.5
important. Pratice is the key to master this subject. Read it slowly from curriculum
books and make notes alongside. While practicing the questions, note down your 0.5
mistakes and try to avoid those mistakes. That's the best way to ace this subject. 0.5
