The use of MATLAB was utilized in order to perform the experiment: Laplace
and Inverse Laplace transformation. With the use of this software, it provides the
applications and operations and makes the tasks productive to use. The objectives of
this experiment were able to satisfy and answer the given tasks which are to expound
the different MATLAB windows and tools. To understand the laplace and inverse
laplace transform operation. To know how to solve laplace transform using
MATLAB. And lastly, to know how to apply inverse laplace transform in
MATLAB.
The Laplace transform is a useful tool for dealing with linear systems. The
Laplace transform comes in a few varieties; for engineering applications the most
usual is the unilateral transform (behavior for t<0 is not relevant). Laplace
transforms are often used to solve initial condition problems. Also, the Laplace
transform succinctly captures input/output behavior or systems described by linear
ODEs. The purpose of the Laplace Transform is to transform ordinary differential
equations (ODEs) into algebraic equations, which makes it easier to solve ODEs.
However, the Laplace Transform gives one more than that: it also does provide
qualitative information on the solution of the ODEs (the prime example is the
famous final value theorem).
The command laplace (y) restores the laplace transform of f and b default the
independent variable in the function is t and the transformation variable is s. With
respect to the inverse laplace transform, ilaplace (y) is the function utilized so as to
decide the inverse laplace transform of a given. By default, the independent variable
is s and the transformation variable is t. Command symvar was applied if F does noy
contain s.
