In this era, environmental problems are rife, especially in Indonesia. The causes of this
environmental problem also vary. Starting from waste, plastic, which is left just like that
without any good handling. plastic, which is actually needed by the people, turns out to be
one of the masterminds of environmental pollution. Plastic is made from materials that are
difficult to decompose, so that when piled into waste, it will be the cause of environmental
pollution.

Nowadays, plastic waste is a hot topic of conversation. Because, Indonesia has been named
as the second largest contributor of plastic waste after China. These various types of plastic
waste, some of which are plastic bags, plastic drink bottles, household furniture, to toys for
children. Plastic plays an important role in the lives of people in the world, especially in
Indonesia.

An increase in the use of plastic is not accompanied by the ability to recycle making a pile of
plastic waste which will be fatal to the earth. Because the plastic requires a long time to be
decomposed. Moreover, the Indonesian people do not yet have a greater ability to process
plastic waste that is increasingly piling up. tourist attractions that have not been touched, now
there are trash scattered about, for example the beach in the South Mountains. the writing in
every corner with information that is prohibited from littering has only been ignored

The existence of the phenomenon of plastic waste has led to the existence of paid plastic bags
in the world, including in Indonesia which are enforced in large stores, such as Indomaret.
Although only valued at 200 rupiah, but this way I think is effective to minimize the use of
plastic bags. The community itself has also been urged to use cloth shopping bags to replace
plastic bags to carry their groceries. The price of this cloth bag is indeed more expensive than
plastic bags. However, this cloth bag is safer to use than plastic bags.
the environmental damage faced today requires change. First of the public awareness to love
and have the responsibility to preserve, care for, preserve, and protect this nature as well as
possible. Starting with yourself, over time it will become a habit that will later have a big
impact on Indonesia's change to become a more developed country, especially in terms of
responsibility and self-awareness

That kind of thinking will make this country go forward. Take good examples from other
countries, such as imposing sanctions for littering garbage. When there are sanctions for
actions, the person will automatically deter. This method is considered effective to make the
community orderly and comply with existing rules. Security in public places must also be
increased and tightened to oversee public actions in littering.

To reduce the use of plastic bags, we can try to make it ourselves at home using used t-shirts
that are not used. In addition to saving costs, it is also considered effective in reducing the
level of plastic waste disposal in Indonesia. Although there are still many people who choose
to lose 200 rupiah to buy a paid plastic bag, but what's wrong if we start from ourselves first.

Keeping the earth does not need to start with big things. Enough with something as small as
throwing trash in its place is enough to help the earth to remain beautiful. Self awareness is
also needed. Loving and protecting nature is our duty as human beings. The earth was handed
over to humans to be protected, not to be destroyed. The more often we are aware, at least
throwing trash in its place, the more the earth will be friendly. An effective way to safeguard
the earth is once again emphasized in the self-awareness of each individual

In addition, the price of paid plastic bags should be increased. When the price of plastic bags
is only cheap, many people will underestimate this by choosing to buy rather than having to
buy cloth bags that cost much more. With rising prices people will tend to think twice about
buying plastic bags. This method is also effective to reduce the amount of use of plastic bags.
Reducing the use of plastic bags is the same as reducing plastic waste which is a scourge for
the people of Indonesia. That way, nature will be better, more comfortable, and more friendly
with humans as people who are responsible for nature itself.,
