Dukie is being celebrated for his years of contribution to

Southwestern College and the South Bay community. He is
a SWC Alumnus, Port of San Diego Commissioner, a leader
in the construction industry, former Southwestern College
Foundation Board Member, and community hero. We are
thrilled to be honoring him at this year’s event.

As an alumnus, Joe is the embodiment of the value of a

Southwestern College education and what’s possible for our
students. He is an award-winning television screenwriter,
author, producer, director, comic book writer, creator of heroes,
and a hero in his own right. He is also an active champion of
the college’s food pantry and student newspaper.
