At the end of the lesson, the students shall have:

 What about the arm girth?
Arm girth is measured around the arm

How about the length?

Sleeve length is measured from the shoulder
point to the desired sleeve length.
What should we bear in mind in
getting the circumference line of the
body?
We should put 2 fingers under the tape
measure. This will serve as an allowance.

different types of sleeves.

What type of sleeve do children

usually wear? Puff sleeves or gathered sleeve.

What about the professionals who

work in the office?
Set in long sleeves and short sleeves.
What about secondary students
like you?
Plain set in sleeves.
Almost every individual wear
clothing with sleeves. What do you
think is the reason why people wear
clothes with sleeves?
1. To hide big muscles
2. To hide thin arms
3. To cover the arms
4. To add beauty to the dress.
With all these reasons you have
cited are you now ready to make set-
in sleeves?

B. Presentation
This morning I will show you the
steps on how to draft set-in sleeves.

Precautionary Measures
1. Never play with your sewing tools
2. Work with Clean hands

Steps:
1. Draw a perpendicular line.
2. A is the corner of two lines.
3. AB is 5 inches downward.
4. AC is the length of sleeve downward.
Draw horizontal lines for ABC.
 5. AD is ½ of armhole measurement to the
right.
6. CE is ½ arm girth to the right. Connect DE.
7. F is the corner of B and D. connect A and
F.
8. AF measurement divide by 2 equals G.
9. AG measurement divide by 2 is H+1/2
upward
10. GF measurement divide by 2 is I + ¼ inch
downward.
11. Connect A, H and G with a curve line so
with G, I and F.
C. Application
Students will draft the set-in sleeves
following the procedure.
