Concept

Introduction.

Vision
 Create a new era of patriotic Igbo people who will appreciate local talent in fashion, interior and
graphic design that will give the Igbo culture a national identity on the international market and
become one of the leading culture promoters in Africa.
Mission
 To promote and empower Igbo culture’s tourist industry through authentic Igbo creativity and
allowing for development and marketing of contemporary Igbo cultural creations.
 To contribute to the creation of a distinctive traditional Igbo dress.
Objectives
 To promote Igbo culture through art creations.
 To design outfits with unlimited creativity to satisfy the tastes of different people
 To encourage use of locally made fabrics and other materials and blending these with civilized ‐
modern ideas to make outstanding creations
 To design outfits to suit international trends without t loosing our African identity
 To come up with inter‐cultural exchange programs between Igbo businesses and internationally
based businesses.
 To encourage creativity and personal initiative as a tool to create more employment
opportunities and eliminate job seeking tendencies.
 To impart the knowledge and expertise to the youth of Nigeria.
 To create a large job market for individuals whose line of profession falls within the fashion,
interior decorations and graphics designing industry.
Structure of the Partnership
For an effective partnership that allows maximal output, three persons will be involved as
principal partners with the responsibilities of management, creative design and production. A
brand will be created with a dominant Igbo image that will serve as the marketing brand and
Igbo Heritage promotion. Igbo designs will be made for production of personal and household
products which will marketed across the globe. Funds generated by the partnership will be
utilized for offsetting cost incurred for production of items while a percentage will be set aside
for the development of programs that will further promote the initiative like setting up a
website and organizing events. The details for the utilization of resources will be agreed upon
by the partners and properly documented.
Issues of registration of the partnership will be agreed upon, and proceeds from the
partnership when it accrues can be used this purpose.
While the partners will utilize their individual offices for their allocated activities, the office of a
principal partner will serve as the secretariat for the partnership.
Individuals who will be relevant to the partnership will be engaged on ad-hoc basis. Each
engagement will be done after agreement between the partners and clear cut roles and
responsibilities will be established to ensure full utilization of capacity,
Activities
All products and messages must be reviewed and agreed upon by partners (at least 2 out of 3)
 Produce Igbo concepts and designs
 Develop themes and messages for design description and promotion of the heritage
 Identify items on which design will be produced on like cloths, household items, caps etc
 Print design on items
 Design and produce ‘ready-to-wear’ cloths from the design marketing
 Market items
 Identify market expansion opportunities
 Identify social media and develop framework for utilization of the social medium for
products marketing and sales as well as heritage promotion
Roles and Responsibilities
Each of the partners will have clear cut roles and responsibilities, properly spelt out to prevent
conflict. This will form the basis of an MoU that will be signed by all partners.
