INTRODUCTION

Tardiness has already become a habit of some students

nowadays, being tardy means coming late on school even their
house is just beside their school and it can lead to more serious
problems affecting their academic learning as well as in their
performances, if a student is not on time every day the student
cannot perform well in class discussions, when passing their
output after deadline is also an example of being tardy. But up to
now students are still unaware of what will be the consequences
to their academic performance , in this study the researchers will
aim on finding an answer to the different causes and how to
avoid being tardy

SANCTION
Sanction has two nearly opposite meanings: to sanction
can be to approve of something, but it can also mean to
punish, or speak harshly to. Likewise, a sanction can be
a punishment or approval. Very confusing — the person
who invented this word should be publicly sanctioned!
Academic consequences
within a class or research project
Such action may include: requiring the student to redo the
assignment for a reduced grade. assigning the student a failing
grade for the assignment. assigning the student a failing grade
for the class.
REVIEW OF RELATED STUDIES
Being always present in class and getting to school
on time are two of the crucial determining factors of
a student’s success, not just as a student but as a person who
will be managing his/her own life in the future. Given the
importance of being punctual, this study aims to explore and find
out the factors that affect the punctuality of SHS students

SUMMARY
This research studied the tardiness of SHS students the
reasons and factors between course and year level, Respondents
who indicated “woke up late” in their reasons answered
additional reasons why. They said they were just too tired and
lazy to go to school early that they end up being late. Others said
that they wake up late in the morning because they slept late the
night before. Some respondents added that they become too
complacent with their early class schedule. Additionally, from
the respondents that included “preoccupied with other works” as
one of their reasons for tardiness, majority of them described
these works as academic.
