Under the Workplace Safety and Health (Operation of Cranes) Regulations, no person shall install, repair, alter or dismantle a mobile crane or tower crane unless he is an Approved Crane Contractor.

Two categories of crane contractors have been approved as shown in the table below. Category I contractors are approved for the installation, alteration or dismantling of tower/mobile cranes, while Category II contractors are approved to carry out repairs of tower/mobile cranes in addition to the approval granted under Category I. Please note the scope of work for each
approved category.
