tranquil space to unwind and rejuvenate

 RESIDENTIAL DESIGN

T he design brief was to create an

elegant personal sanctuary-
Master Bedroom suite where there is
open access between functional
spaces. Moreover a special need for a
tranquil space to spend quite time for
inner contemplation & meditation
was required.
This has been achieved in the design
layout by planning a Meditation

MASTER BEDROOM SUITE

Room which is visually separated
from the Master Bedroom with a
perforated screen, made of wood.
The Meditation Room further leads
to a private outdoor deck for spatial
expansion & experience.
The Master Bedroom is attached
seamlessly with a private luxurious
Bathroom & Walk-in-Closet.It is also
flanked with big glass windows which
overlook to the greenery outside as
well as bring ample light and
ventilation.
Overall the design philosophy is
simple & understated, with a hint of
modern refinement-creating a
timeless interior setting.
 MASTER BEDROOM
I n this master bedroom, there are
classical european elements
&modern simplified lines.The Bed is
accentuated with a Headboard made
in combination of dark solid wood &
laquered glass.The ribbed sofa is
brought alive with wooden frame
made in solid ash and upholstered in
jacquard fabric.
Sheer curtain provide an airy look-
layered with sumptuous solids for a

dressed -up cosy feel.Coffee table is a
statement piece from Christopher
Guy.
Together all elements give the room a
unique, original & personalised look.
FLOORING
W ooden parquet flooring in
herringbone pattern adorns
the entire bedroom, giving it an
elegant & classic look with subtle
texture. It is in Dark walnut colour to
enchance the masculine feel of the
room.
The Meditation Room on the other
hand is installed in the center of the
room with Solid Oak Inlay Wooden
Tile giving it an exquiste luxurious
look.It is surrounded by strip wooden
flooring with alternate joints on all
four sides. The ornamental flooring
helps to achieve the Oriental look of
the room.
 FALSE CEILING DESIGN
T he Ceiling offers a breath taking glimpse of utmost
craftsmanship in the Master Bedroom Suite.
Dome ceiling with coves adds height and character to the
Meditation space .Its his further adorned with a chandelier to
add a touch of glamour .The dome shape resonates with shape
of mandela used for centering and focus - thus completing the
zen style of the room.
On the other hand the Master Bedroom ceiling is contemporary
and unconventional .It also provides mood lighting with addition

of coves through out the ceiling . It is the dramatic focal point of
the room.
In the Master Bedroom the curtain rod is concealed by the
ceiling and cove lighting is provided for aesthetics.

T he meditation space in the home

is becoming increasing popular in
todays hectic lifestyle. It provides a
place to think of ourselves & focus on
relaxation. In other words a
meditation space in your home gives
you a tranquil place to relax &
refocus.It can be not only be a place
for connecting with universe but for
other activities like, yoga , quite
reading or gather with like minded
people .The key to create a
meditation room is to create a small

sanctuary, no matter how you plan
to officially use the room.
“transforming a place into an abode
you can recharge your soul in”.
This meditation room is inspired
from the essence of Balinese
tranquility- Zen style.Representation
of Lotus symbol engraved in wall and
buddha bring in serenity to the
ambience .The view of multiple niches
with candle at the accent wall fills the
heart with awe and leaves a promise
of solace. Folding Lattice screen
windows open into a gorgeous deck,
to bring nature in. The first rays of
the sun reveal the true grandeur and
beauty of meditation room through
them. Also the shadow cast through
the geometric pattern of screen
throughout the day is mesmerizing.
Cushioned floor seating along the
perimeter of the the room is planned.

D ecorated with the wall

painting of an open- air café
and subdued illumintion the
restaurant welcomes the customers
into a trafitional Italian vistro where
peaceful relaxation and pleasant
conversation take place.
The design layout intent is to
transform the existing long and
narrow space into an architectural
one, such as an alley or plaza,
sublimating the spatial restriction in
uniqueness. Pergolas and street lights

were alsio adopted to give an
imppression of a city, street and
public square to the modern people
living a busy life.These elements
naturallly guide the customers,
producing the atmosphere of a
relaxing bench in a plaza.
As for the finish, friendly materials
have been chosen over the ones with
excessive refinement or exaggeration;
the spaces are divided by the lines
and surfaces covered with rough and
natural bricks.In the central area is a
wall painting of an open-air
café,which offers the feeling of the
European streets.Smooth traffic flow
has been devised for the kitchen that
shows the cooking process.

 RETAIL DESIGN

T he design layout is of a flagship

store of a high end luxury
clothing brand -haute couture , like
Burberry . The design brief was to
provide contemporary luxury with
character, yet enabling the
merchandise to hold center stage.
This has been achieved in the design
layout by planning sequence of spaces
framing the clothing with a lining of
tactile material. The inner faces of
these alcoves have been given gold-
leafing to contrast with outer mosiac
finish. The diamond mosiac was

installed as wall treatment in
combination of padded and
unpadded tiles to create depth to the
mosaic.
Subtle lighting is installed in form of
cove ligthing throughout the
store.The design is uplifted with
white-oak finish herringbone pattern
paraquet wooden floor.
Overall the design philosophy is
simple & understated, with a hint of
modern refinement-creating a
timeless interior setting.
