Measurement Variant Version Remarks
REC TGRP A3 50 Version number 50 remains unchanged for hiQ 9200
V6. There are no newly defined output fields. Only the
interpretation of the field ‘OPMODE/TGRPTYP’ has
changed in case of values ‘K’ and ‘L’ (see 3.4
Measurement specific hints).

Table 4: Variant and Version

3.2 Common remarks on the data records

If in a measurement order several objects are recorded, its number will remain constant. After
deletion of a recorded object, default values are output for this object.
In case of measurement of all trunk groups, a data output will be done for each trunk group
which is created, provided that its data are available at the moment of data reading.

Further general description of the data records see Error! Reference source not found..

3.3 Data Quality and Availability

Up to 3 data quality signs may be output in the same mask. In the traffic measurement files of
REC TGRP measurement, the signs are used as follows.

3.3.1 Data Quality

Value Meaning Remark

0 default Default value
1 SECURE Data of this cycle are secure
2 TIME CORR During this cycle the system time was modified
(MML-command: MOD TIME)
3 NO INIT Traffic measurement counters could not be initialized at the
previous stroke. Therefore, the output data are insecure for
the actual cycle.
4 INCMPL SUM unused

3.3.2 Availability

Value Meaning Remark

Blank default Default value, for internal use only
1 AVAILABLE The traffic measurement data are available.
2 DEL Object (trunk group) deleted
3 NONE No data available for this measurement object (i.e. no data
from traffic data server)

Table 6: Data Availability

3.4 Measurement specific hints

To each trunk group an operation mode (OPMODE) with following values is assigned:

IC - incoming
OG - outgoing
BW - bothway

To each trunk group a trunk group type is assigned, REC TGRP uses following values:

STD - Standard trunk group

IF - Interface trunk group (RSU-specific, opmode bothway)
SD - Sidedoor trunk group (RSU-specific, opmode bothway)
MG - Media Gateway TGRP (MG-specific, opmode incoming or bothway)
BIS - Bearer independent signaling TGRP (MGC/BICC/ISUP+ or SIP/SIP-T, opmode
incoming or bothway)

In data output for postprocessing, a combination of both values is constructed:

I - opmode IC, trunk group type STD

O - opmode OG, trunk group type STD
B - opmode BW, trunk group type STD
F - opmode BW, trunk group type IF
S - opmode BW, trunk group type SD
G - opmode BW, trunk group type MG
H - opmode IC, trunk group type MG
K - opmode BW, trunk group type BIS
L - opmode IC, trunk group type BIS

For data output control (quantity of the data) an additional trunk group sign is used. This sign
shows specific properties of the trunk group. See ‘Identifier’ in Table 10: Counter overview and
counter provision part 1 and Table 11: Counter overview and counter provision part 2 in chapter
5.1, Counter overview.
Example: NH for a NH-specific TGRP or CCS7 for a TGRP with CCS7-Signalling.

The data structures for trunk groups are prepared for trunk groups with opmode bothway. Data
fields which are not used for the current opmode, trunk group type or trunk group sign remain
unused, filled with spaces.

P30304-E0731-K170-1-7617 9
Trunk Group Measurement Data Description of Output Data

The traffic counters for RSU-specific Interface- (IF) respectively Sidedoor- (SD) trunk groups are
not distinguished between incoming (IC) and outgoing (OG) traffic. The counters for outgoing
(OG) traffic contain the total incoming and outgoing traffic; the counters for incoming traffic
remain unused with default values.

All counters corresponding to their opmode (IC or BW) for bearer independent signaling (BIS )
trunk groups, Media Gateway Controller (MGC/BICC/ISUP+), Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)
or SIP for Telephones (SIP-T) TGRPs are output. There is no special handling for these trunk
group types.

3.4.1 Number of measurement objects

The subsequently listed table shows as an overview

- the process incarnations of data recording function (REC TGRP)
as well as the connection between measurement and
- maximum number of objects per data record and
- maximum number of objects per task,
and additional
- the maximum number of objects, which may be recorded,
- the maximum number of objects in the system (the exchange).

Subsystem TS
Measurement REC- Max. number of objects
incarna- per data per to be in the
tions record (1) task recorded system
REC TGRP (1) 8 3...28 4095 4095 4095

Table 7: Number of measurement objects

(1) With selection by the FORMAT-parameter as well as project or trunk group type specific, it
is possible that only a part of the counters will be filled into a data record. So the number of
trunk groups in a data record is variable.

It is possible that more than one data record will be written. The maximum size of a record after
reformatting for postprocessing is 2044 Bytes. All data parts for a trunk group are written in the
same data record.

Example:
An order (REC TGRP) is started to record 10 trunk groups (measurement objects), it is not
possible to make an output with a single data record for all trunk groups. So 3 data records will
be output every 15 minutes, the first and the second record contain 4 trunk groups each, the
third record contains 2 trunk groups.

3.5 Header Record [also for Project DTAG]

The header record is described in Error! Reference source not found.

4.2 Overview of the used Indices

Data may be output for subsequently listed indices:

Index Counter content

1 Common call and volume counters, project specific counters
2 additional trunk group data and trunk group counters
3 Calls carried successful (CCS) counters
4 Calls carried unsuccessful (CCU) counter, QOS-counter
5 CCS7-specific counters
6 NH-specific counters (direct- and 1st alternative route)
7 NH-specific counters (2nd alternative route)
8 MLPP-specific counters
Table 8: Overview of Indices
By selection with the FORMAT parameter of the REC TGRP command as well as project-
and/or trunk group specific, the data output may contain only a partial set of the possible
counters.
MDD data output contains only counters which were selected by FORMAT, and/or those
counters which are valid for the particular trunk group type, trunk group sign, project and
operation mode. As a result, some data segments (indices) may be missing completely.
However, at least one data segment (index) is put out for a selected trunk group even if all
counters of this segment show the default value (e.g. because the trunk group was deleted). In
case of measurement of all trunk groups, no data for deleted trunk groups will be written on
MDD.

By modification of the trunk group data (e.g. operation mode, trunk group sign, trunk group type)
during active traffic measurement, the number of the data segments written on MDD can
change at any time. This affects the file size calculation as well as the used space of the current
measurement file which must be extended dynamically.

5 Field Description

5.1 Counter overview

Counter for REC TGRP

A list of counter names (MDD output) as well as counter provision dependent of the operating
mode of the trunk group, the trunk group type, the trunk group sign and the project (country
code of the exchange) is listed in Table 10: Counter overview and counter provision part 1 and
Table 11: Counter overview and counter provision part 2.

Explanation of the marks:

(+: provided, -: not provided, *: true).

OPMODE and TGRPTYPE see chapter 3.4, Measurement specific hints

Explanation of the Identifier:

CCS7 : CCS7-specific Counter
NH : NH-specific Counter
SEMI : Counter is read out from semi-permanent trunk group database
SEL : specific selection of common counters
MLPP : MLPP-specific counter, selection should be done in MLPP-APS's
Rem : Output of these counter with the respective mark (1 or 2) may be
depending on the project suppressed

Ind - Counter blocks (Data control index which applies to the counter):
Data output is restricted to selective counter blocks corresponding to the entered FORMAT
parameter values with command REC TGRP. Assignment see: Table 9: Assignment of
FORMAT parameter values to counter blocks.

FORMAT = Assignment
No input all counters
ALL all counters
COMLONG all counter of Ind = 1 and Ind = 2
COMSHORT Counter package (see Identifier SEL)
(Part of the counter of Ind = 1 and Ind = 2)
UNSUCC all counter of Ind = 3 and Ind = 4
CCS7 all counter of Ind = 5
NH all counter of Ind = 6 and Ind = 7
MLPP all counter of Ind = 8
Combination of the values result in the total sum of the selected counters, e.g.
COMLONG and COMSHORT are all counters of Ind=1 and Ind=2 (equal with
COMLONG).

Field Field name Description

no.
10 CCS Number of released calls after TGRP seizure (CC:O) because
CONGESTION the backward signal for “congestion“ (all trunks busy) was
received from downstream exchanges (transit or destination
exchange).
11 CCS INCMP DIAL Number of released calls after TGRP seizure (CC:O was
incremented before) caused by:
- calling subscriber going on-hook after incomplete dialing (state
of call in own exchange is still incomplete dialing) or
- timeout of inter-digit time supervision
12 CCS UNALL NUM Number of released calls after TGRP seizure (CC:O) because
the dialed directory number was not created or because the
calling party is not authorized to make calls to this destination
(SPCONN, CUG and service)
13 CCS RELORIG Number of released calls after TGRP seizure (CC:O) due to
ENDTOEND „clear forward“ from the originating exchange, without the actual
reason for release being known in the transit exchange. In
transit exchanges, this counter is only updated if end-to-end
signaling is used between originating and terminating
exchange.
14 CCS SUB BUSY Number of released calls after TGRP seizure (CC:O) because
the backward signal „subscriber terminal busy“ was received.
15 CCS INT TECHN Number of released calls after TGRP seizure (CC:O) due to
IRREG technical fault in own exchange, e.g.
- LTG failure on A- or B-side
- Force Release after SN-through connection
- COC failure
- Channel, port, switch glare
16 CCS EXT TECHN Number of released calls after TGRP seizure (CC:O) due to a
IRREG technical fault in the network outside the own exchange.
Increment for e.g.
- trunk glare
- invalid message
- hop counter with value ZERO is received from previous
exchange
17 CCS Number of released calls after TGRP seizure (CC:O), caused
UNANSWERED by:
- called subscriber does not answer (ringing tone timeout) or
- calling subscriber releases connection after call in own
exchange reached state ‘end of dialing’/’complete dialing’ and
before called subscriber answers or
- ISDN-terminal is not connected

Field Field name Description

no.
10 CCU SUM Number of unsuccessful attempts to seize the TGRP. This
OFL/LOSS represents the sum of overflow calls and lost calls. For TGRPs
in the high-usage route or final route it represents the sum of
lost calls.
11 CCU LOST CALLS Number of calls offered to the TGRP as first choice route which
then overflowed but were unsuccessful in all alternate routes
(counter is incremented for the first choice TGRP only). Calls
rejected after being offered to the final TGRP as first-choice
route are also counted on this counter.
In NH-network this counter is incremented for the Direct route
(signed by PRIM).
Notes:
1) There are cases in which only CCU_LOST_CALLS is
incremented, but no other CCU-counter (e.g. RCREQS =
Reverse Charging at setup time over analog TGRP is rejected
with RCT#176, because ISUP is required)
12 CCU NM TGRP Number of attempts to seize the TGRP but rejected due to
BLOCKING network management actions in the TGRP (cancel from, cancel
to, skip)
This reason results in
- ‘Lost calls’ (no overflow) for ‘cancel to/cancel from’
- overflow to next route for NM control ‘skip’.
13 CCU TECHN Number of unsuccessful attempts to seize the TGRP due to a
IRREGULAR technical fault, e.g.
- database fault/inconsistency
- unsuccessful entering the trunk busy state
- SN blocking (no access to outgoing trunk)
- Force Release before SN-through connection
- Echo-Control-Device Loop could not be inserted
- invalid message-data or an data-base-failure or a come-again-
request for code-processing
- not able to seize internal resources ( not able to secure CHR,
not able to release B-side CHR from maintenance, not able to
select a speech channel)
- ...
This reason results in ‘Lost calls’ (no overflow).
14 CCU TGRP Number of call attempts to a TGRP which were overflowed
BLOCKED (‘Querwegbündel’ = high-usage route) to an alternate route or
were result in ‘lost calls’ (final route/ direct route) because the
TGRP was blocked for administration or maintenance.
15 CCU TRUNK- Number of call attempts to a TGRP which were overflowed
RESERVATION (‘Querwegbündel’ = high-usage route) to an alternate route or
were result in ‘lost calls’ (final route/ direct route) because all
free trunks of this TGRP were reserved.

16 CCU ALL Number of unsuccessful attempts to seize a TGRP because
TRUNKS BUSY there is no idle trunk found in the TGRP in the CP.

10 NUMB CCS7 Number of instances of overload, i.e. number of occasions on
DPC OLOAD which DPC overload was recorded for the TGRP.
- CCS7 specific -
11 CCS7 DPC Overload duration due to DPC overload in the CCS7-TGRP
OLOAD (SEC) - CCS7 specific -
12 CCS CCS7 NORM Number of released calls after TGRP seizure (CC:O) because
UNSPEC line signal CALL_FAILURE (TUP) was received or in case of
ISUP, after receiving certain line signals (IUC) in CCS7
messages.
Note:
Counter is also incremented during release of the unanswered
call by activation of CCNR.
(Reason: „normal unspecified“ is required for DSS1 CCNR
activation.)
- CCS7 specific -
13 CCU CCS7 Number of call attempts to a TGRP (circuit group) with CCS7-
CCNC OLOAD signaling which overflowed (‘Querwegbündel’ = high-usage
route) to an alternate route or were result in ‘lost calls’ (final
route/ direct route) due to CCNC-overload in the own exchange.
- CCS7 specific -
14 CCU CCS7 DPC Number of call attempts to a TGRP (circuit group) with CCS7-
OLOAD signaling which were overflowed (‘Querwegbündel’ = high-
usage route) to an alternate route or were result in ‘lost calls’
(final route/ direct route) due to CCNC-overload in the
destination exchange / following exchange.
If a TFC- Message was received
- from the subsequent overloaded exchange or
- from the own exchange if overload is detected between SIPA
and SILT
then the user (ISUP, TUP ...) is informed.
- CCS7 specific -
15 CCU CCS7 DPC Skipped or canceled calls due to Automatic Congestion Control
OL ACC (ACC)
Number of call attempts to a TGRP (circuit group) with CCS7-
signaling which were overflowed (SKIP_ACC) to an alternate
route or were result in ‘lost calls’ (final route/ direct route)
(CANCEL_ACC) because ACC (? the capacity of the link
transmission buffer (SILT) was exceeded) for the selected
outgoing trunk.
If a No.7-message RLS (release) from the subsequent
exchange is received which contains a congestion indicator
(overload level) then further calls may be not through connected
for this reason.
